There’s tired, and then there’s ‘soul’ tired.
When we’re physically tired we rest, we sleep, we take a break. Then when we feel good again we bounce back and get on with life.
When we’re soul tired no amount of sleep, holiday, or busy distraction can satisfy it, and if you’re feeling it, you know exactly what I mean.
Our soul gets tired because it’s tired of waiting, tired of being kept in the noise of life while our authentic self sits quietly in the background hoping we’ll finally slow down long enough to feel it, to reconnect and start honouring our truth.
When we are soul tired we:
• wake up after a full night’s sleep and still feel exhausted
• we feel a sense of flatness that sits underneath everything, even on the good days
• we feel a low hum of sadness or longing that we can’t quite explain or pinpoint where it’s coming from
• busyness feels like relief but only ever temporarily, and the moment things slow down the same feeling rushes back in
• we crave for something more but we can’t name what it is
• holidays and rest don’t restore us the way they used to
• we feel disconnected from ourselves, like we’re living a life that looks fine on the outside but feels hollow on the inside
• deep down something in us knows there is more but we don’t know how to get there
Our soul isn’t asking us to search for it outside of ourselves, it’s asking us to ‘feel’ it, to go inward. Everything in our life is pointing us inward.
The exhausting feeling ends the moment we surrender to the distractions that have kept us avoiding the one thing that matters in this world - connection to self.
Everything we have ever been looking for has been waiting inside us all along.
Much love,
Lisa ♥️
