Lessons from Mama Ocean…
She teaches us about timing. Not rushing. Not forcing. Not chasing every wave that rolls through.
There’s a quiet wisdom in sitting on your board, watching, waiting and truly taking in your surroundings. Feeling into what’s coming rather than panicking about what’s passing you by. Some waves look good from afar but don’t eventuate. Others arrive softly, almost unnoticed — until they sweep you up to dance.
Mama Ocean reminds us that not taking a wave isn’t failure or a missed opportunity. Sometimes it’s discernment. Sometimes it’s trust. Sometimes it’s knowing that your energy is better preserved for what’s coming over the horizon.
She teaches us that life isn’t about catching every single wave that rolls in — sometimes it’s about waiting… trusting you’ll recognise the right one when it arrives. Sometimes the hardest lesson is letting an opportunity pass in anticipation of a better one that you can’t see yet… Sometimes it’s having the courage to quit, or to wait for something even more aligned, moving with intention, and committing fully when the moment arrives.
And when you miss it?
You breathe. You reset. You float.
Because there’s endless waves in the ocean, there’s always another one on the way.
Patience. Presence. Trust.
The ocean never rushes, or spares a concern for what anyone else expects… And guess what everything unfolds exactly as it should… Always!
… Now read that again and replace “wave” for “opportunity” or “decision” ✨
