~ How do you test for them?
~ How can we treat them?

And No, over the counter (OTC) natural ‘parasite cleanses’ are not the answer!! These herbs are STRONG antimicrobials, causing damage to the gut, disrupting the gut microbiome and compromising the gut lining in both adults & kids, so guys, we DO NOT want to put our kids on parasite cleanses ok!!

Also, ‘ongoing use’ of OTC worming chocci & tabs (combantrum) isn’t the answer either ~ it is ok to take in the short term, but if symptoms persist and you find yourself needing more, then we MUST investigate the ‘driving factors’ for the reoccurrence of thread worms & ‘work on the gut terrane’ (the gut environment) — this is where the answers lie. Make sure that you are working with a qualified practitioner to support you and your family.

Let’s talk protein people….

👉🏽 Why Protein Matters
Protein plays an essential role in the body. It helps to stabilise blood sugar levels, keeps us fuller longer, essential in weight management, it supports energy production, it’s essential for growth and the repair of our muscles & more.

💚 Remember: your protein needs may increase with exercise, stress, illness, or during healing.

Recommended Daily Intake (RDI):
👨‍🦱 Men 19+ → 0.84g per kg body weight
👩‍🦰 Women 19+ → 0.75g per kg body weight
👴 Men 70+ → 1.07g per kg body weight
👵 Women 70+ → 0.94g per kg body weight

Focus on whole food sources always !!!!!!
Think eggs, fish, legumes, tofu (better yet, Tempeh), nuts, seeds, and grass-fed meats.

✨ Eat a bite of the protein portion first and ensure that protein is in every main meal of the day, because, daily protein wins = long-term energy, stable moods, and a happier & healthier you. But never overdo it! balance is key, and your kidneys won’t like toooo much protein (Caution in renal disease).

With so many devastating events on the daily, we MUST turn to nature to start to heal ourselves. We have a devine connection with the natural world, as we are to, creatures of the earth. I know it’s a privilege to be able to do this for some, as many go without the natural world to turn to, but tune into Mother Earth and its blessings whenever you can.

The sound of birds chirping, warbling. The crickets, frogs & cicadas increasing in volume in the evening. The sound of the wind, the rustling of leaves in the trees, the sunshine on your face, the grass under your feet, the ocean breeze going in and out of your nasal passages & your lungs — let nature in 🌿

Thyroid health!

I wish that Medicare offered the FULL thyroid panel! But Dr only run blood work for the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), and if that is out of range, which it is generally the last thing to become out of range, as items not really a hormone, it’s the communication between the thyroid & the brain, then the lab will run T4. But what about the other markers?? — T3, rT3 & Thyroid Antibodies!? Even parathyroid hormone (PTH) and corrected calcium all important factors in assessing thyroid health. I’m always recommending clients off to get their full thyroid panel checked, and it’s costly to them $220, which I wish it wasn’t.
