🌑 Black Moon Ceremony 🌑

Tonight’s rare Black Moon—a second new moon in a single month—offers a powerful moment for reflection and intention. Nestled so close to the New Year, this celestial event invites us to embrace the opportunity to set heartfelt intentions for the lunar phase ahead and the year to come.

This new moon rests in Capricorn’s steady embrace, a sign connected to career, ambition, and structure. It’s a perfect time to plant seeds for what you wish to create in these areas of life.

🌟 A Simple and Sacred Fire Ritual 🌟
Use this ritual to align with the energy of this Black Moon and channel your intentions:
1. Gather Your Tools
• A candle
• A few small burnable sticks—at least 3 (toothpicks work beautifully)
2. Create Your Space
Find a quiet, calming place. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and connect to your heart and centre.
3. Release
Reflect on what you’re ready to release—especially in the realms of work, goals, or ambitions. What isn't working for you? What has reached it's expiry date in your life? Blow these feelings, thoughts, or energies into one stick, imagining them leaving you completely.
4. Call In
Now, focus on what you wish to bring into your life. What do you want to create, build, or manifest this year? With your breath, infuse this vision into a second stick. Focus on what it will feel like to realise these goals as if they have already occurred.
5. Pray for the Collective
With your third stick, send out intentions for transformation beyond yourself. Imagine a world where work, business, and ambition are forces for good—aligned with the well-being of our communities, our planet, and all living beings. Blow these prayers into your stick.
6. Burn Your Intentions
One by one, light your sticks in the candle flame. Offer each to spirit, trusting your prayers will be carried far and wide.
7. Give Thanks
Close your ritual by thanking your guides, spirit, and the universe for supporting your journey.

✨ A Few Tips to Deepen Your Practice ✨
• Keep it Simple: Trust that spirit hears your heart, even if your words aren’t perfect.
• Pray for the Greater Good: Imagine your intentions uplifting your community and the world.
• Embrace Gratitude: Acknowledge what you already have as you call in more.
• Stay Open: Allow spirit to surprise you—focus on how your desires will feel rather than dictating how they must appear.
• Respect the Earth: Dispose of materials responsibly and honour your environment.

This fire ritual, rooted in ancient practices, offers a beautiful way to focus your energy and intentions. In modern times, a candle and a few simple tools make this sacred practice accessible wherever you are. Thank you to The Four Winds Society and Alberto Villoldo's teachings for the basis of this ritual.

Let this Black Moon guide you to release the old, welcome the new, and co-create a future filled with purpose, abundance, and joy.

🌞🌻Today’s Summer Solstice in Australia 🌼

Did you know that Ritual assists the reptilian part of our brains to shift, change, transform and let go? Our ancient ancestors used ritual to set their intentions, acknowledge life stages of change, and focus their prayers for the seasons to come. And you can too. Even today, ritual is still an excellent way to support changes that you might be praying and working for in your life.

Creating a daily/weekly or monthly ritual, doesn’t have to be complicated or elaborate - only intentional. And taking an opportunity to acknowledge the major celestial and earth cycles is a good place to start when considering a ritual.

In the southern hemisphere, today is the summer solstice - the longest day of the year. The symbolism of this day is a seasonal celebration of all that the peak of light brings - fertility, abundance, healing, creativity, renewal and joy. The light is at its peak. Consider what this seasonal event might mean for you, your next season of growth, and set your intentions accordingly.

I’m blessed to be spending this summer solstice on Australia’s magical Hamilton Island. But without my usual tools, a makeshift ceremony using what I could gather from Pachamama felt incredibly right.

The candle was a gift from a friend who lives here, the flowers and plants gathered by my most treasured loved one, and the feather a gift from the local cockatoo’s. I usually create a despacho on these celestial occasions- gifts and prayers for spirit and pachamama to be brought to the fire. But with no fire available here, a simple small offering of fruit and flowers to our mother via her ocean waters was my chosen option.

Tips for creating your own ritual:

🌞Set your intentions - what changes are you intending and working towards - how might those changes benefit more than just you?

🙏🏻Offer Prayers for the good of all, not just yourself - intend to expand your prayers beyond what just you are needing. The world needs all of our gifts and ways of ‘being in service’ right now. Even if you don’t realise it, the ripples of Your healing and positive changes will help more than just you. Trust that the changes you are praying for, are in return, praying for you.

🪱Be flexible - Use what nature provides you and adapt your ritual accordingly. This isn’t just a good tip for ceremony, but for daily life.

🌺Trust your prayers - don’t worry if your prayers aren’t perfect. Hand them to spirit and trust that your intentions are received with the highest and purest intent, even if the words aren’t exactly right. Pray with your heart and trust your feelings.

🪸Be environmentally conscious - consider litter and the environment if using fire and/or making offerings to waterways or the land. No plastic, nothing hazardous. Consider the health of our plant and animal family with any offering always.

🌝🌞🌻Happy summer solstice and Merry Christmas 🙏🏻🎄
