Open Prep is upon us. We all want the fancy skills…but whenever the big lift or the high skill is tested in the Open there’s one thing that it has in common:

Capacity is what is tested. You need a whole lot of fitness to get to that point.
Our group program the Herd is focusing on building work capacity this training block and making sure you’re fit enough to get there.

Worried it’s not enough? Add either the Engine, Gymnastics, or Strength bias work in to hit your weaknesses.

Skills pay the bills especially in Open season.
But skills in isolation are useless.

The ability to do ring muscle ups doesn’t matter if you can’t do them at the end of a chipper workout when you’re exhausted and losing motor control.

You need to practice these skills either under fatigue or in pairing with non complementary movements (eg how good is your handstand walking with wrecked hip flexors and abs from toes to bar?).
