Riley is 22yo & lives east of Warwick, Qld. Riley was disgnosed with Stage 4/Advanced Stage Hodgkin Lymphoma in February 2025.

We will post & share Riley’s journey here for family, friends & anyone else wishing to follow along & share positive vibes. 💜

Echocardiogram completed yesterday. Results mid March. Fingers crossed nothing serious to report. 🤞🏻

On this day 12 months ago, Riley was given his cancer diagnosis. It was a day that turned our lives upside down. It was a day of shock, uncertainty of what was ahead, questions after questions, fear and helplessness for him, for us and his siblings.
12 months later we have discovered how strong Riley can be, how courageous he is and how proud of him we are. We are grateful for his strength and resilience especially through the most difficult and soul destroying moments.
Tomorrow is his post-chemo echocardiogram to see if there is any damage to his heart after treatment, results will be at his next hematology appointment in about a month.
Today we are grateful he is a warrior and grateful for the medical support he received and is receiving. 🙏🏻

Today is World Cancer Day. Positive vibes out to everyone affected by Cancer and those currently fighting the fight. We wish strength to all and appreciate all the efforts in finding cures for this devastating disease.

Happiest 23rd birthday Riley!!! This time last year we were celebrating your birthday unknowingly you were about to go into the fight of your life. Today we are so proud of your endurance and look forward to many many more birthdays to come. Happy birthday warrior!!!

Riley had his first 3 monthly Hematologist appointment since finishing chemo today, also his first here in Tassie.
We had a recap with his new Dr of his diagnosis, treatment and issues throughout his treatment.
She did a full exam and checked his bloods which all seems good.
She has ordered a heart scan in the next month or two to see if there was any damage done by the chemo to his heart. He did have some heart pain for a several weeks after chemo so she wants to check if all is well and will compare to his original heart scan prior to chemo.

Only addition is that due to the amount of cancer that was in his bones including his collar bone and sternum, she wants him to start taking Vitamin D from now on as chemo would have damaged his bones and there is less absorption of Vitamin D from the sun down here. She will also review his scans post chemo.
Otherwise, moving forward, he is feeling well, still bouts of tiredness but one step at a time and doing well.

We are so grateful to be celebrating as a family and especially with Riley in good health and good spirits after a very rough year.
To all those doctors and nurses who got us through this rollercoaster of a year, we are forever grateful and wish you all the most wonderful Christmas.
Riley has his next hematologist appointment on Tuesday so we are hoping all is continuing well for him.
To all those currently fighting and those in the chair today we wish you all our positive thoughts.
To everyone who prayed and sent positive wishes and follows his journey, we wish you all a merry Christmas and hope you have a beautiful day. 🎅🏻🎄🎁y

Little update on Riley as I get asked frequently.
He’s doing well. Some little side affects which we will have checked at his next hematology appointment in late December. Tiredness is common. Now he’s back at work, he tires quite quickly afterwards. He suffers nausea in the mornings and a little chest pain occasionally but otherwise he’s active and enjoying life.

I forgot to post these photos below. Callum (Rileys brother) decided he needed to finally cut his hair and have a fresh change, so we decided to donate his chop to Sustainable Salons who use hair for wigs for cancer patients. Let’s hope it gets some use!

Quick Riley update. He is doing well. Slowly returning to work and adventuring out on family days but it seems to take its toll, knocking him out frequently. He does seem to be gaining a little weight and hair is slowly returning. Next Hematology appt is end Dec. But great to see him smiling and happy!

Today was a special day for Riley, he finally got to return to work after his diagnosis hospitalised him in early February. Gratefully, EB ensured a position would be available to him after his treatment as he was unable to work during, and he was even able to transfer to the Devonport store at the same position. I’d say he looks pretty happy about that.

Riley’s beard and eyebrows are regrowing but not much on his head yet, so he is attempting to promote his hair growth with castor oil…

Quick update on Riley. Still feeling better each day. He now has an eyebrow 5 o’clock shadow. 🤣

Eli has been fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma alongside Riley bringing diagnosed himself around the same time. He has achieved a massive victory at the Sydney marathon including raiding over $21000 for the Regional Cancer Centre. What an accomplishment!!!
