🌱🌱 When creating the gift of sleep i had to do alot of reasearch because i wanted to create something that truely helped people. I refuse to be a gimmick. Through all of my research on Valerian root I have come to the conclusion that it is an absolute must have when it comes to our nightly routine.

Valerian root is often referred to as “nature’s Va**um.” In fact, this herb has been used since ancient times to promote tranquility and improve sleep.
It has a very strong, earthy odor due to the volatile oils and other compounds responsible for its sedative effects.

Valerian root contains a number of compounds that promote sleep and reduce anxiety.
These include valerenic acid, isovaleric acid and a variety of antioxidants.

Valerian has received attention for its interaction with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical messenger that helps regulate nerve impulses in your brain and nervous system.

Researchers have shown that low GABA levels related to acute and chronic stress are linked to anxiety and low-quality sleep.
Valerenic acid has been found to inhibit the breakdown of GABA in the brain, resulting in feelings of calmness and tranquility. This is the same way anti-anxiety medications like Va**um and Xanax work.
Valerian root also contains the antioxidants hesperidin and linarin, which have sedative and sleep-enhancing properties.
Many of these compounds inhibit excessive activity in the amygdala, a part of the brain that processes fear and strong emotional responses to stress.

Imagine sitting down to a warm cup of tea with so many benefits. I can't wait for you to try it 🌱🌱

What does magnesium do in the body?

Magnesium is involved in over 600 cellular reactions in the body. The mineral helps to maintain healthy brain function, regulate heartbeat, and manage muscle contractions. Some experts believe magnesium may also lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease, support mood, and, crucially, improve sleep quality.

How does magnesium support sleep?

It helps the brain and body relax, which is essential for preparing the body for rest. Magnesium triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, sometimes called the rest and digest system, which is responsible for cultivating feelings of relaxation and stillness.

This mineral helps to regulate neurotransmitters — chemical messengers that send signals throughout the brain and nervous system. Research suggests this mineral binds to the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric (GABA), which helps to quiet nerve activity that may otherwise disrupt sleep by soothing the nervous system, magnesium helps to prepare the mind and body for rest.

A study published in 2016 found that magnesium intake directly correlated with reduced stress and anxiety. Researchers suggest that decreased anxiety may enhance cognitive performance, curb irritability, and, notably, optimise sleep.

There’s also evidence to suggest magnesium is involved in the production of melatonin, which governs the body’s sleep-wake cycles. This hormone induces sleepiness in the evening and, when levels of melatonin decrease in the morning, the spike in cortisol wakes the body up.

Can you improve your quality of sleep with magnesium?

Besides helping the body ease into rest, magnesium also contributes to greater sleep quality. Several studies have confirmed the mineral acts on the nervous system and encourages restorative, deep sleep.

don't just take our word for it, try it for yourself. Our nightly routine comes with magnesium so you can put yourself on the path to a full nights sleep 💙💙

Have you heard of the benefits of sleeping on a satin pillow case?

Satin stays cool to the touch which helps regulate temperature, it isn't absorbent either so it wont soak up all that goodness you put on your face before bed.
As well as being free of moisture satin attracts and maintains fewer dust particles, because of that it is perfect for people with acne and breakouts.

I would also like to mention that because of its soft easy glide surface, it is gentle on the skin and hair. With less friction you get less hair breakage and retain your own moisture.

To good to be true? I guess you'll just have to try it out for yourself. Each gift box comes with your very own satin pillow case for the perfect nights sleep 😴

Have you ever laid in bed at night and had that "tomorrow I'm going to" inspiration inside of you like I fire rising. It might be working out, losing weight, cutting ties with people who don't benefit your life anymore or even something as simple as cleaning out a draw you've been meaning to get to for a while only to wake up and have no motivation to do those things anymore?

Well you're not the only one!

Here's an idea, set an alarm as a reminder to do what ever it is that you set your mind to do the night before. Count to 5 and on 5 just simply do it without hesitation and without giving your mind the opportunity to procrastinate.

I can promise you the feeling of accomplishment once achieved will far out weigh the satisfaction you will have from sitting around achieving nothing.

What will you be doing when you wake up? 😊

💋💋There something so satisfying about selfcare.💋💋

It is not just important to take care of ourselves internally. Externally when we feel good on the outside our minds resonate and feel even better on the inside.

Do something for yourself today, that will make you feel better tomorrow. I always feel accomplished like I could take on anything when I show myself some love.

Our lip masks are just too cute and I'm enjoying seeing these gift boxes come together 💋💋💋

🌱💜 Introducing our lavender bath soak which is perfect for winding down at the end of the day and preparing yourself for a restful night 💜🌱

Step one in our nightly routine.

Did you know that lavender is widely used to promote a healthy sleep and aid anxiety? I thought you might have 😊

That's why you'll understand why step one is the most important of them all. It is after all the beginning of the end of the day where you get to focus on yourself. Not only are you preparing yourself consciously but subconsciously you are re training your mind to understand that it is time to wind down and by continuing to follow a nightly routine things will feel a little less chaotic and a little more peaceful.

I'd like to know how you relax in the bath, do you sit in silence, turn on some music, light a candle or read a book?

Let us know in the comments 💗

Check out our new scrunchies 😍

Our cute little velvet scrunchies are perfect for when you need to throw your hair up at the end of the day. I don't know about you but a quick little up do solidifies the end of a busy day for me.

Creating this habit for myself has taught my brain to recognise that I can now relax and put my worries from the day behind me 🌸🌸🌸

🖤💗 MELATONIN 💗🖤

Just one of the goodies in our nightly routine gift box and I'd say one of the most important.

So what is melatonin you ask?

Melatonin is a hormone that is produced by the pineal gland in response to darkness. It helps with the timing of your circadian rhythms (24-hour internal clock) and with sleep.
It is used to treat insomnia, to help those with jet lag and for shift workers.

My favorite part about melatonin is that it is a hormone produced naturally in the body. Unlike prescribed sleeping aids you won't wake up in a fog.
