Busy Mornings and Growing Friendships

Mornings at South Grafton Community Aged Care are filled with purpose as residents enjoy their daily routine. Firstly, heading out for a walk, letting out the chooks, collecting eggs and spending time in the garden. These daily activities showcase the wonderful teamwork among residents and the strong friendships that continue to grow as they work, laugh, and spend time together.

Celebrating a New Chapter
Wishing a heartfelt farewell to one of our wonderful pre-admission Nurses as she begins an exciting new chapter. 🤍
Chanelle has been part of our journey right from the start and has played such a special role in helping shape our home from the very beginning.
We’re so grateful for everything she has contributed and wish her all the very best as she welcomes her new baby. We can’t wait to meet the newest little member of our extended family!

A Special 100th celebration at South Grafton Community Aged Care.

Last week we proudly celebrated welcoming the 100th resident to our home. Each resident brings their own story, traditions, and laughter, helping shape the warm and supportive community we cherish.

Hopping into Easter with smiles!

The Easter Bunny hopped by to say hello and deliver some chocolate eggs and our residents were all smiles.

From egg‑stra cuddles to cracking good fun. Wishing our residents, families, and friends a safe and happy Easter.

South Grafton Community Aged Care Residents giving back to the community.

This week residents ventured out on the bus to the local Mend & Make Do Crew Op shop to volunteer for the very first time.

With plenty of smiles, conversation, and a real sense of purpose, our residents worked together to pack toiletry kits. The kits will be distributed to people experiencing homelessness within the community. Thank you to our residents for your time, kindness, and willingness to make a difference.

Valentine’s Day was filled with sweetness and smiles at our special morning tea 💕

Residents enjoyed chocolate-dipped cookies, cups of tea and lovely conversations about love and friendship. On arrival, everyone received a heart-shaped envelope, hidden inside two of them were the words “I love you”, our lucky door prize winners the proud recipients of heart-shaped boxes of chocolates. 🍫❤️

The tea bag throwing competition brought plenty of laughter and a little friendly rivalry, a perfect reminder that Valentine’s Day is about celebrating, joy and sharing special moments together. 💖

A very special performance today at South Grafton Community Aged Care.
Fully kilted Jacaranda Highland Dancers performed for our residents, creating a particularly special moment for a resident who was once a Highland Dance teacher and judge.

Each performance was filled with grace, tradition, and heart bringing tears to our eyes.

We are so grateful for this beautiful experience. Thank you to the Jacaranda Highland Dancers and their families who made this performance possible.

January has been a joyful start to the year at South Grafton Community Aged Care. The home has been filled with music, movement and meaningful moments. Our residents enjoyed wonderful entertainment from singers and dancers, along with engaging and purposeful everyday activities such as folding laundry, gardening, and socialising together.

We also loved visits from Gus the therapy dog, which brought extra smiles, comfort, and laughter to everyone.

Thank you to our residents and staff for making January such a lovely month!

The Crafty Chooks had a big morning at South Grafton Community Aged Care. They spent their time making Australia Day decorations: flags, streamers, and a lot of glitter. ✨

But as always, they shared more than just craft supplies. Between the cutting and gluing came laughter, stories, and the kind of friendships that go deeper than words. ❤️

Paper, glue, sisterhood, and new memories — that’s what the Crafty Chooks are all about. 🐔

🎸🎤 Less Conversation, More Celebration! 🎤🎸

Residents and staff came together to celebrate Elvis Presley’s birthday with a fun-filled morning of Elvis-themed karaoke. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and toe-tapping moments as everyone joined in singing along to the classics.
The biggest surprise came from our usually quiet Wellbeing Assistant Jesse, who revealed a hidden singing talent that completely wowed residents and colleagues alike. His Elvis performance truly stole the show!
A huge thank you to John for being such a good sport and helping make the celebration so memorable — you really brought the Elvis magic to life!
It was a fantastic morning full of music, memories, and togetherness.

A Wonderful Start for Our New Residents!

Our new residents have had an amazing first 10 days settling into their new home, and we couldn’t be more delighted to see them already connecting, creating, and enjoying life together.

From gentle morning walks and relaxing manicures, to lively card games and festive craft sessions. The past week has been filled with laughter, conversations and friendships.

One of the highlights was welcoming the talented Ukette's Group and a joyful St Joseph's Primary School Christmas concert a beautiful way to bring our residents and the wider community together.

We’re so proud of how quickly everyone is settling in, and we look forward to many more days filled with activities, connections, and fun.
