Happy OT week!!
A week to celebrate all of the wonderful things we do as occupational therapists!
Occupations make up everything we do as people. Our sense of self, our identity, our purpose, embodies all of our life roles and the occupations we complete as part of these roles. You might be a parent, child, partner, friend, carer, business owner, employee, runner, cyclist, sewist, or dancer). We often define ourselves by our life roles, and the ability to continue partaking in these roles is crucial to our identity.
Occupational Therapy is unique in the way that we view the whole person, and their individual life roles and occupations within their own environments. Occupational Therapy is supporting people to do what they want to do and be who they want to be.
At Identity OT, we strive to understand the whole person, their unique goals and work with each client to develop goals that matter to them. Therapy is guided by best evidence, but also individually designed to meet the needs and values of each client.
