Ever wondered if you’re actually doing your pelvic floor exercises correctly? 👀 Pelvic floor exercises shouldn’t feel like guesswork - especially if you’re struggling with incontinence and not seeing any improvement.

So many people are handed a pamphlet and sent on their way, but without being shown how to activate the right muscles, symptoms often don’t go anywhere.

In today’s video, our Principal Physiotherapist, Lauren May, shows how we use real-time ultrasound (RTUI) in the clinic to help you see your pelvic floor working - so you can learn the correct technique and build strength that actually carries into everyday movement.

Once you can identify the right muscles, we take it a step further by integrating that awareness into functional movement… including targeted exercises in our Pilates studio. This is where the real magic happens. 💫

✨Pilates, Poise and Grace ✨

With a background in ballet, Grace loves Pilates because it lets her enjoy the shapes and flow of dance, while being much kinder on the body. She brings care, precision and warmth to every class, guiding clients through mindful movement and helping them build strength and confidence.

Grace first discovered Pilates while recovering from an injury, and later returned to it as a way to reconnect with movement while working a desk job. Her classes are creative and energising - and yes, you might hear Whitney’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” to get everyone moving! 🎶

We’re so grateful to have Grace as part of the Manna team! She is an incredibly talented instructor, always willing to step in to cover her teammates and a model of professionalism and reliability. Her contribution has made her an integral part of the studio, and we couldn’t be luckier to have her with us. 🌟

🎥 Behind the Scenes: How Physiotherapy informs the way we support our clients

In this video, our Studio Manager Barbi chats with our Principal Physio Lauren about the way we work together to support clients who are navigating injuries or specific physical needs.

Lauren brings over 20 years of physiotherapy experience, and her input is a core part of how we ensure clients are moving safely and effectively. We regularly collaborate with her for second opinions, referrals and guidance so that the programming and instruction you receive is aligned with best-practice physio principles.

We are also fortunate to have instructors with physiotherapy backgrounds on our teaching team, including Laura Lok and Georgia Hischar who has just completed her final prac. Congratulations, Georgia! 🎉 She’ll be back teaching in Darlington soon, so keep an eye on the timetable for her classes.

Our goal is always to provide an environment where movement is informed, supported and tailored to the individual.

What a beautiful morning we had at our Pilates Taster & Tea in our stunning Darlington studio over the weekend! 🌿

Our guests enjoyed a gentle and inspiring Pilates session with Studio Educator Alexandra and Senior Pilates Instructor Gab, followed by a cosy morning tea featuring fresh buttermilk scones, homemade jams & cream and our delicious herbal teas - including a refreshing hibiscus iced tea made with herbs and lemons straight from the garden 🍋🌸

We even had a little taste tester sneak a bite before everyone arrived 😋

It was such a lovely morning getting to know everyone and helping them begin their Pilates journey. The ladies were wonderful and stayed into the afternoon, making it a morning to remember 💕 We are so excited to welcome many of the ladies back to the studio. And by popular request, we may just have to plan another one in the new year 👀
