Here I am, Standing where past Olympians have come and gone. Where they have left their legacies in the weights room and the record books and where I hope to leave mine.

To be grateful is an understatement to be around so many great athletes, coaches and thinkers of the game. It's an honour to call this my training ground, My second home & I'm forever humbled to have even gotten the opportunity to step foot in this place.

Today's Video is all about the catch in the clean position. 💆🏻‍♀️

Here are a few tips: 📝

⚡️Pull with your feet directly under your hips

⚡️ When you catch, aim to be in a squat stance

⚡️ The reason is it is much easier to catch the bar in the bottom squat position.

⚡️ Most athletes get all jammed up at the bottom position

⚡️ Try sliding your feet out as you jump, improving your jump mechanics.

The more repetitions you do & the more hours you invest in the sport, the better you become.

Learn patience. As a former national athlete, nothing ever came overnight. It took persistence to perfect my craft and resist the pressure of failures.

My greatest goal in life was to be an Olympian but I didn’t quite get there. The biggest piece of advice I could give to any young, aspiring athletes is this…

Don’t waste any time and just go for it. Don’t have doubts or reservations about your decisions. Just accept the sacrifices you’ll have to make and leave nothing to chance.

Looking back I wish I started weightlifting earlier, I’d have had more time to develop the skills to be better.
