This quote sums up why I do the work I do.

You don't come to art therapy to perform or produce.
You come to feel steadier, clearer and more connected to yourself.

You don't have be creative.
You don't have to know what you are doing.
You don't even have to like art.

The benefit isn't the artwork, it' what happens while you're making it.

If you've been wondering whether this kind of support might be for you, you're welcome to reach out. Send a DM or get in touch to have a chat.

Mirror art is a gentle therapy-based practice where two people sit opposite one another and copy each other's marks on the page.

It might look simple, but it's deeply regulating. The slow, responsive movement helps calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety and create a felt sense of safety and connection - all without need to talk or explain anything.

For many people, especially those who feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start, mirror art offers a soft entry point to therapy. You don't need to be "good at art". You just need to show up, slow down and be curious.

If this approach speaks to you, get in touch to book a session or learn more about working with Kelly from Artfulness.

So far, they have made gorgeous Trees of Life and Macrame Christmas Decorations. We have lots more in store for 2026.

When children make art, they're not just creating pictures. They're learning how to express emotions, trust themselves, solve problems and regulate their nervous systems.

Art creates space of curiousity, imagination and emotional safety.

Art gives children more than something to do — it gives them a way to express what they’re feeling when words are hard to find.

Through creating, children build confidence, practise problem-solving, and learn that it’s okay to try, change their mind, and explore. Art also supports emotional regulation, helping children feel calmer, more grounded, and more connected to themselves.

When we focus on the process rather than the finished product, children learn that they are capable just as they are. Creativity becomes a space for curiosity, wellbeing, and growth.

If you’re looking for a gentle, supportive way to nurture your child’s emotional wellbeing, art therapy can offer a safe place to begin.
