Ahead of the Victorian Government's announcement recognising pharmacist training pathways, our Branch President George Tambassis and Committee Member (and Nelson's Pharmacy Glenroy owner) Nicole Hardwick were pleased to meet with Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas MP and Member for Broadmeadows, Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP yesterday.
As Victorian pharmacists commence training accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council (including the course just launched by Monash University), Nicole shared her team's journey over the last few years, of expanding the care offered to her patients by the Nelson's Team.
From the consultation rooms originally set up to support vaccinations throughout the pandemic, to supporting patients throughout the Community Pharmacist Program trial and the excitement to deliver a greater level of care for their patients, Nicole's journey towards full scope is so 'on brand' for community pharmacists across Victoria.
The Pharmacy Guild Of Australia - Victoria Branch thanks Premier Jacinta Allan and Minister Thomas for supporting a greater level of care for patients, that will soon be delivered by hardworking community pharmacists. We look forward to supporting all our members on their journey practicing to their full scope, particularly as they undertake their training from next year onwards.
