🌄 Climbing Mountains On & Off the Trail

Yesterday I tackled Sublime Point again — 1000 steps, 700m elevation.
Last time: 46 mins ⏱️
This time: 39 mins ⏱️
That’s about a 15% improvement — a huge win 🙌

I put this progress down to my lifestyle and consistent training in the gym. Every mountain I climb builds not only my physical fitness but also my resilience in everyday life.

For me, hiking is a reminder that every challenge is just like climbing a mountain:

It feels tough at first

With effort, you keep moving forward

And eventually, you reach the top — faster, stronger, and with more ease than before.

The view at the summit is always the reward 🌿✨ A chance to soak in the energy, breathe deep, and be grateful.

From Walking to Running 🏃‍♂️🌲 — Progress Built Step by Step

A few months ago, I was just walking these trails, taking in the beauty of nature — something I’ve always loved and leaned on to clear my head and stay grounded.

Fast forward to now:
I’m out here running these same trails, in 4 degrees, wearing a jumper, shorts… and a big smile.
Not because I’m naturally gifted at running (truth is, I’ve struggled with it since I was a kid) — but because I’ve been putting in the work:

The “grass-fed vs. grain-fed” debate just got a serious upgrade.

A groundbreaking study has uncovered how farming practices—not just labels—dramatically impact the nutrient density of beef.

🔍 Key Early Findings: Grass-Fed vs. Grain-Fed Beef

This isn’t a black-and-white story—within each system, nutrient content can vary widely depending on farming methods. But here’s what the study revealed:

🌿 Grass-Fed (Polyculture Pastures):

ALA (Omega-3): +210.7%

EPA (Omega-3): +117.6%

Total Omega-3s: +103.1%

Omega-6:3 Ratio: Significantly lower (linked to reduced inflammation + better heart health)

Calcium: +78.5%

Phytochemicals (antioxidant & anti-inflammatory): 72% higher

Overall Fat: ~18% leaner than grain-fed

🌾 Grain-Fed (Conventional Feedlots):

Higher in certain B vitamins & minerals (likely from supplementation)
