HEEA Therapy Services can work with NDIS participants of all ages and all funding types (i.e. self managed, plan managed, or NDIA managed).

HEEA Therapy Services provides Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology & Physiotherapy services for NDIS participants in Hervey Bay and Southport, Gold Coast, and Telehealth Australia Wide We are based in Hervey Bay and Southport, Queensland. We also offer a range of telehealth supports Australia-wide. Appointments are available for NDIS funded therapy/intervention, assessments, reports, and assistive technology/equipment. We do not operate a waiting list; everyone gets an appointment. Our flexible, honest, and personable service is what makes HEEA unique.

They work alongside our Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Physiotherapists to help turn therapy plans into meaningful, real-world progress.

🧠 Fun Fact Friday 👂👃

If you think you have big ears or a big nose, there’s a reason for that! Both your ears and nose never stop growing throughout your life.

That’s right - while most of your body stops growing once you reach adulthood, cartilage (the soft tissue that shapes your ears and nose) keeps on developing and changing over time.

Another fun reminder that our bodies are amazing, and always evolving! 💜

Building skills, one puzzle piece at a time!

Puzzles are more than just a quiet activity, they’re a powerful therapy tool!

Our Occupational Therapists use puzzles to strengthen:
✨ Fine motor skills
👀 Visual perception
🧠 Problem-solving
🎯 Attention to task

Each piece encourages planning, persistence, and that wonderful feeling of achievement when it all comes together.

For our Speech Pathologists, puzzles open up opportunities for communication - describing pieces, asking for help, taking turns, and following instructions - all while having fun!

G is for Great Work, Nicholas! 💪

Shout out to Nicholas and Jess who have been working on producing the “G” sound during their speech sessions!

Today, Nicholas combined Lego play with his speech practice - building an incredible creation while using words like got, give, gold, go, game, gate, guard, and Lego!

Play-based therapy makes learning fun, engaging, and meaningful, and Nicholas absolutely nailed it! 👏

Last week, our amazing Business Support duo, Terri-Ann and Jo, attended the EmpowerHer 2025 Conference, hosted by BiziWomen Connect - raising vital funds for the Fraser Coast Hospice Association Inc. 💜

Immersed in a day of inspiration, learning, and connection, they heard from an incredible lineup of speakers - Kylie Brennan, Sarah Yip, and Tara Bradbury - who shared empowering stories and strategies for growth, confidence, and leadership.

Events like these remind us just how powerful it is when we come together to learn, share, and lift each other up.

Our OTs love using Rhino Hero to support:
🎯 Fine motor control
🤲 Coordination
🧩 Visual-spatial awareness
It’s also a great way to practise patience and turn-taking.

For our Speech Pathologists, Rhino Hero is a fantastic tool for building communication skills - from following directions to using descriptive language and social interaction.

Who knew superheroes and towers could help build real-life skills too? 💜

We’ve added a brand new Shark Game to our therapy toolbox - and the team had just as much fun learning to play as our participants will!

This game is perfect for working on:
🎯 Fine motor skills – grab, pinch, and place with precision
🗣️ Vocabulary building – naming, describing, and storytelling
🤝 Turn-taking – learning patience and social play

We are HEEA to help!

HEEA is an exciting new business on the Fraser Coast delivering Allied Health services for people with disability which are more than just therapy. Interestingly HEEA also provides consultancy services for small to medium disability service providers. Evan Munroe and Holly Butler have a combined experience of over 40 years in the Disability and Community Sectors in leadership roles and a reputation of providing that personal touch. Excitingly they have partnered up to create HEEA a flexible, innovative, and enthusiastic business that is 100% mobile!

HEEA currently has two Occupational Therapists and has recently recruited Speech Pathologists who will be starting in the coming months. HEEA has appointments available now for therapy, assessments, reports and equipment, all in the comfort of your own home. Alternatively, we can meet in the community, and you still receive the same honestly human, ethical, enthusiastic and authentic service that makes HEEA unique. At HEEA, you aren't just another participant, you are our friend and we will treat you as such.
