This is the sunrise photo I took on the very first morning I woke in Hervey Bay!!

THIS IS A PHOTO OF A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

If I was ever asked to close my eyes and picture my happy place - it was ALWAYS a sunrise over the ocean.

That morning - five years ago - I leapt out of bed and ran 5 houses to the end of the street to get a photo of the sunrise over the ocean.

I CRIED - I couldn’t believe this was my reality and I could do this EVERY. SINGLE. DAY 🙏

I WAS FINALLY HOME!!!!

I’ll never ever forget that moment.

The day when I finally got to do what makes my heart sing everyday ❤️🎶

The key to helping those who are struggling is to call them up and out of the hole they’re in - not to climb into the hole with them.

They need to choose to be well and want a better life. They need to take action. Not us pulling and pushing them.

Empowering others is the key - not disempowering them by trying to do it for them.

Feeling sorry for them is sympathy. And it’s not helpful for them or us.

Calling them out of the hole towards us and a better life is empathy and compassion.

I can tell when potential clients reach out if they’re absolutely ready to take action or if they’re wanting carried. It’s not helpful for either of us if they’re not ready. So I say no.

I know exactly what to do when their motivation and drive is there for a better life!! When they are absolutely ready to do whatever it takes 💪🏻💃🚀

My husband Dean passed away 8 months ago and I want to share this reflection on one part of his story.

He was an incredible man and impacted so many lives. He was vulnerable and real and I love him to bits.

I’m all about wellbeing
Living your best life
Doing what makes your heart sing
Choosing you!!

But I’m aware the term “self care” and how we use it, can be destructive and detrimental to our wellbeing.

It’s important to notice when we’re tired BUT sleeping more isn’t the answer!!!
The answer that serves us best is what am I going to do about it?
What action will I take to solve why I’m so tired?
It’s about being proactive not reactive.
