The comfort of a known midwife 🤍
There’s something deeply settling about being cared for by someone who knows you - your story, your preferences, what helps you feel safe. Less repeating yourself. More feeling held and heard.

Research on midwife continuity of care (a known midwife or small known team across pregnancy, birth and the early weeks) shows women report more positive experiences, and in many settings are less likely to have interventions compared with other models of care.

Meet Midwife Lana 🤗

Mum of 4 wonderful kids + one 🌱 blooming…testing grandma names Ma, G-Ma, Gigi, Gran-Lana-Banana🍌

Midwifery came later in life, bringing life experience, faith and purpose to help support women to find their strength, worth and voice.

Downtime - known to soothe my soul over-engineering spreadsheets 📊, if it’s research, organisation, or calm logic - I’m your girl!

Home life:
🎓 1 Teenager - hybernating 😴 uni loading 📚
🐱 2 cats & 🐶 1 kelpie
🐟 6 fish (currently alive - early days)

When I’m just Lana Banana 🍌 I’m:
☕️ Enjoying coffee/cocktails with friends
🚗 4th time learner-driving (why 100 hours?!)
🏕 Camping
🔥 Navigating perimenopause - aka 2nd puberty but with receipts

I don’t love:
✈️ Flying
🧊 Ice chewing (why is it a labour favourite?!)
🥵 Hot flushes – respect to every woman before me

I appreciate sharing hearts, wise perspective, seeking truth over noise. I’m deeply grateful to walk this amazing journey, surrounded by strong women, a loving family and like-minded friends 🤍.

A lot of people don’t realise this, but endorsed midwives can provide early pregnancy care too - not just GPs.

Meet Midwife Aly 👋😄
Ex–high school teacher turned midwife (because I clearly thrive on ‘prepare, support, watch them thrive’ roles).

7 kids (4 bio, 3 bonus)… and 5 are teenagers 🫠✨ so yes, I run a small nation with mood swings, growth spurts, endless taxi-services, and suspiciously empty fridges.

I’m passionate about education, empowerment, and physiological birth - calm, evidence-based care that helps you feel confident, capable, and genuinely supported.

When I’m not midwifing (or negotiating teen dramas), I’m:
☕ coffee-dependent (lactose free because it’s sweeter, not because I’m intolerant)
🎶 playing music (we ALL love a good brass band, yes?!)
🥾 bushwalking for peace
📚 always learning or encouraging others to learn

Home life includes:
🐔 chickens
🪿 geese (my feathered security guards)
🐶 a puppy who believes rules are optional

Things I do not love:
🧽 cleaning (sorry, I missed that memo)
🐟 anchovies (nope, never)
