Finding a regular GP is one of those things that's easy to put off — until the day you really wish you hadn't.

Main Street Medical Centre is welcoming new patients across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast. We've cared for local families for more than 30 years, and having a regular GP means your health is looked after by someone who knows your history — not started from scratch every visit.

Family general practice, skin checks and skin cancer care, women's and children's health, chronic disease management, immunisations, ear care and more — all in one place, with male and female GPs to choose from.

Bulk billing is available for eligible Medicare card holders. We're open Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm.

The summer's over. Your skin remembers.

A full body skin check is a thorough top-to-toe look at your skin by a GP with a clinical focus on skin cancer medicine, using digital dermoscopy to map any spots that need closer attention. If something looks suspicious, our doctors can investigate further on site — including surgical excisions, flaps and grafts.

Skin checks are recommended annually for most Australians, or more often if you've had a lot of sun exposure, a family history of skin cancer, or previous skin cancers.

Flu season has well and truly arrived on the Fraser Coast. Our nurses are vaccinating patients every day this week — quick visits, friendly faces, in and out before you know it.

We have flu vaccinations in stock for all ages, from 6 months to seniors. COVID-19 vaccinations are also available — chat to your GP about whether you're due for one.

Can't make a weekday? We're opening this Saturday 16 May, 9am–12pm as a once-off — book online and select the 'Flu Clinic' appointment type.

Turning 75 in Australia just got a little better.

From this Friday (15 May), the RSV vaccine is free under the National Immunisation Program for all adults aged 75 and over.

RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a common chest infection that can be more serious in older adults — and we're heading into peak RSV season here on the Fraser Coast.

It's a single dose, and it can be given alongside your flu vaccine. If you're eligible, have a chat to your GP about whether it's right for you.

This Saturday only — flu shots, sorted.

If you live or work around Hervey Bay and have been meaning to get your flu shot but can’t make a weekday appointment work — we’ve opened up one Saturday morning, just for flu vaccinations.

🗓️Saturday 16 May, 9am–12pm

Flu shots for all ages — including a needle-free nasal spray option for children who’d rather skip the needle.

A few things worth knowing:
The flu vaccine is free under the National Immunisation Program for eligible patients — including those aged 65+, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, children aged 6 months to under 5, and people with certain medical conditions. Qld Govt is paying for everyone else’s flu vaccines! So no cost to you!

Consultation is bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders.

Bookings are essential — this is a one-off Saturday clinic at Main Street Medical Centre, and walk-ins can’t be accommodated.

Main Street Medical Centre will be closed for the Queensland Labour Day public holiday. We will reopen at 7:30am on Tuesday 5 May.

It's the leading cause of death in Australia — and many people have no symptoms at all until something serious happens.

A Heart Health Check is a quick, structured assessment your GP can do right here at Main Street Medical Centre. It looks at your blood pressure, cholesterol, lifestyle factors, and family history to help estimate your cardiovascular risk before problems develop.

If you're aged 45–74, you may be eligible for a Medicare-funded Heart Health Check once every 12 months. Bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders.

It takes about 20 minutes. It could change the conversation about your health.
