🦸🏻‍♀️ Today on Fun Facts with Frankie 💬

✨ Child-led play matters ✨

Play isn’t “just play” - it’s where language, connection, regulation and confidence grow

Here are 5 speechie-approved strategies to get the most out of playtime 👇

1️⃣ Follow their lead
Let your child choose the toy, the activity, and the pace. When they’re engaged, learning sticks WAY better. Control is overrated anyway 😉

2️⃣ Get on their level
Sit on the floor, eye-to-eye. Shared attention = better communication opportunities (and fewer power struggles).

3️⃣ Talk less, model more
You don’t need a running commentary. Use short, simple phrases that match what they’re doing:
“Car go.” “Big jump!” “More bubbles.”

4️⃣ Pause (yes, awkwardly)
Give them time to respond - with a look, a sound, a word, or an action. Those little pauses are where communication sneaks in.

5️⃣ Join the fun, don’t hijack it
Add to their play without taking over. Copy them, expand slightly, then wait. You’re a play partner, not the director

Play that feels safe, fun, and child-led builds language naturally - no flashcards required ✨

Save this for your next play session & share with a parent who needs the reminder 🧡

🌙 When you rest, the world rests too.

We often believe that if we stop, everything else keeps moving —
that we’ll miss something important, fall behind, or lose momentum.

That belief keeps nervous systems in a constant state of readiness.

But nervous systems don’t work in isolation — they co-regulate.
The pace we hold becomes part of the environment others respond to.

When one person rests, it sends a different signal:
🍃 It’s safe to pause
🍃 The urgency reduces
🍃 Capacity returns

Rest doesn’t remove you from what matters.
It changes the conditions around you.

By choosing rest, you’re not missing out —
you’re modelling a pace that allows learning, connection, and sustainability.

Sometimes the fear is that the world won’t wait.
But often, when you rest…
the world rests too.

🧩Our brains are designed to notice patterns.

When our days are filled with noise, urgency, and pressure, those cues train our attention toward stress and threat.

When we slow down — even briefly — different information becomes available:
✨small moments of connection
✨steady (often quiet) progress
✨signs of regulation and growth that are easy to miss when we’re rushing

Our environment shapes what our nervous system prioritises. And what we prioritise shapes how we experience our world.

If you want to notice more calm, clarity, or possibility, start by intentionally surrounding yourself with cues that reflect those values.
Sometimes nothing changes in our circumstances — but everything changes in what we notice.

🧭Have you set your intentions for this year?

At The Place, we’re firm believers in the power of a vision board.

Call it symbolic, mindset work, or subconscious priming — there’s something powerful about naming what matters and placing it where you can see it.

When your intentions are visible, your brain starts to notice opportunities, patterns, and choices that align with them.
Not through pressure — but through awareness.

You may be surprised by what you achieve when your environment reflects your values.

What you grow is shaped by what you surround yourself with.

And honestly — making them is fun too ✂️🎨✨

✨ Welcome to 2026 ✨ We are back!

A new year.
A fresh page.
And the same heart for our village.

As we step into 2026, we’re filled with gratitude for the families who trust us, the people who inspire us, and the team of humans who show up every day with care, creativity, and compassion.

This year is about connection, solid foundations and continuing to create a place where people feel safe, supported, and understood.

Here’s to growth that’s gentle, goals that are meaningful, and a year shaped by community, courage, and kindness.

We’re so glad you’re here.
Welcome to 2026 🧡

The Place 2025 - unfiltered ✨😆

19/12/2025

As we close the door on this year at The Place, we’re holding a lot of gratitude.

This year wasn’t about perfection.
It was about people.

About showing up when things were hard.
Holding space for big feelings.
Celebrating brave first steps, quiet wins, and moments of growth that mattered deeply — even when no one else could see them.

We’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, adults, and families through joy, challenge, change, and everything in between. We’ve grown together — expanding our team, strengthening our foundations, and continuing to shape neuro-affirming, family-centred support across clinics, homes, schools, and communities.

To our clients and families — thank you for trusting us with your stories and your hearts.
To our team of humans — thank you for the care, skill, and compassion you bring every single day.
To our wider village — thank you for walking beside us and believing in what we’re building.

We’re heading into a well-earned pause feeling tired, proud, and deeply grateful.

✨ Looking ahead…
Behind-the-scenes building 🧱📋, new online goodness 💻, and some more four-legged magic 🐾

Here’s to rest, reflection, and reconnecting with what matters most.
We’ll see you in the new year 🧡

This team of humans 💛
So good to spend some time together celebrating the year that was. A few of our crew couldn’t make it on the night and were definitely missed.

Feeling very grateful for the care, kindness, and heart this group brings every day. What a team ✨
