🏗️✨ BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING at The Place! ✨🏗️

We’ve been up ladders, knee-deep in paint, and laughing our way through some serious Reno chaos 🎨🪜 Because… we’re EXPANDING! 💥

Soon you’ll see brand new therapy spaces, a huge sensory and ninja gym, cosy nooks, and more magic than ever – all designed with heart, colour, and community in mind 💛

We can’t wait to welcome you into our growing home 🏡 Until then, stay tuned for some behind-the-scenes snaps of us building The Place to be 🌈

Oops… we’ve been a little MIA 👀
But we promise it’s for good reason… we’ve been BUSY 🐝

Here’s what we’ve been up to:
✨ Meeting with local members to advocate for our clients and speak up about the real impact of NDIS funding cuts
✨ Invited to help co-design a regional workforce strategy alongside TSBE, Jobs QLD and Rural Med Ed — sharing what it’s really like on the ground in Toowoomba and what our sector needs to thrive 💬
✨ Expanding our incredible team (can’t wait to introduce you to the new faces 💛)
✨ GROWING! More rooms, more spaces… and YES — a GYM is coming 💪
✨ Painting walls, building dreams, and doing it all in between seeing our amazing clients (and sneaking in naps where we can 😅)

Also — shout out to the fabulous violetsandvases.florist for capturing us mid-chaos with our new branding shots 🎞️

We’re back online and can’t wait to keep sharing what we’re building at The Place to Be. 💬

🌾 NAIDOC Week 2025 🌾

At The Place, our work is rooted in relationship — to people, to community, and to Country.

We acknowledge the Giabal and Jarowair peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, and we pay deep respect to Elders past and present.

Country is more than a place — its connection, history, and community. It is how we are grounded. It shapes how we live, how we listen, and how we care for one another.

We’re proud to work alongside families on Giabal and Jarowair Country, and we’re committed to walking forward with honesty, respect, and strong relationships.

Voiceover:“Outro” by Miiesha - Miiesha is a proud Pitjantjatjara and Torres Strait Islander woman and award-winning singer-songwriter whose music shares powerful stories of culture, identity, and Country.

🖤💛❤️

🌟🚀 From scraps to spaceship!
Our new Rocket Ship Community Library is an upcycled masterpiece — lovingly brought to life by Harry and our brilliant tribe of kids at The Place.

Take a book or leave a book - it’s a little space for connection, sharing, and building community from the ground up.💫♻️

Strategic Planning Day: where big ideas, snacks, and a whiteboard marker somehow turn into the next 12 months of magic 💫📈
We’re so proud of this team—and the big things we’re building together.

🌈On Wednesdays, we make Pride slime. 🌈
Because the limit does not exist on how many ways you can express who you are.

Whether you’re figuring things out or owning it loud, you’ve got a place here—with glitter, colour, and zero judgment.

You can sit with us. 🏳️‍🌈

🍔 Blokes. BBQ. Real Talk.
Huge thanks to everyone who came to our first Blokes & BBQ night – part of our free community series here at The Place.

It was everything we hoped for – relaxed, supportive, and full of laughs.

👊 More coming soon. Because dads need a village too.

🧡Shoutout to MetPhys for recently hosting such a great night of connection and conversation with our fellow allied health humans 🙌 Just what the soul needed during these recent funding changes.

We had an amazing time and met some awesome people… but judging by our camera roll, you’d never know it.

📸Please enjoy this curated collection of poorly timed selfies and general photographic fails.

The networking? Strong.
The photography? Questionable at best.

📢 We Stayed, You Cut

This piece was written to reflect where many of us in allied health are right now—still showing up, while the foundations beneath us continue to shift.

We deliver care in homes, schools, and communities.
We absorb the travel, the waitlists, the unpaid hours.
We support the people who rely on us—when systems fall short.

And we do it because we believe in the work. We believe in the people.
This message is not directed at our clients, families, or communities—it’s for them.
It’s about the conditions that make it harder to keep delivering the quality of care they deserve.

The recent changes to NDIS pricing structures and travel claims don’t reflect the reality of this work.
They don’t reflect the time, the distance, the complexity, or the responsibility.
They don’t reflect the value.

This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about what happens to care when the system quietly pulls back from the people who deliver it.

This is a signal.
That we’re tired. That we’re stretched.
And that something has to change if we want this workforce—and this support system—to remain viable.

If this resonates, please share it.
The more of us who speak, the harder we are to ignore.
