Why does quality matter?

Experts estimate nearly 80% of all essential oils on the market are adulterated in some way. If you’ve ever used an essential oil and thought, “Essential oils just don’t work for me,” it’s probably because you were using a diluted essential oil—maybe even an adulterated one. When this happens, the essential oil loses its potency, which results in it not having a noticeable effect.

Essential oils can be contaminated or adulterated. Contamination is unintentional and usually happens when there’s inexperienced personnel and insufficient equipment being used. Adulteration is intentional, lowering the quality of a substance by adding another substance to it.

Adulteration has been a concern since the beginning. Companies will adulterate essential oils because it’s an easy way to increase profits and save on resources. But when essential oils are adulterated and substances are added, they become fabricated and sometimes even harmful.

The addition of carrier oils to raise profits and make the essential oil go further is the easiest adulteration method in the market and remains one of the most common. Companies will also take it further and add different oils to a pure essential oil. For example, Cassia has a similar chemical make-up as Cinnamon. Companies will often add a substantial amount of Cassia and label it 100% pure Cinnamon.

What changes have you made this year to help reduce your toxic load?
Over the last couple of years we have changed so many things in our home, plus adding in the use of essential oils. Adding in a (or many) diffuser to your home will help reduce any sprays you may have around your home. Have you ever noticed getting a headache, loss of breath or sneeze after spraying a can of something to get rid of a smell? Replace it with a diffuser or a spray bottle with some water or witch hazel and add in some essential oils in stead.

The most easy swap was the soap. I make a foaming hand soap and it is so quick and easy and I get to add my own scent to it as well as get the benefits from the oil I choose every time we wash our hands. Win Win 🥰

This is Declan, he will use the kids collection everyday along with a lot of other oils. It gives him a choice to help himself with his moods or worries without having me solve them for him. Oils can help children in many different areas of their life.

💧Lumo Diffuser
💜I love this diffuser, it can be put on for 2 or 5 hours continuously or 10 hours intermittently, 5 minutes on and 5 minutes off. It will turn off by itself when it runs out of water as well.
💚I have ours in the Loungeroom as the 10 hours intermittently works well for our family. Peppermint and Wild Orange is one of my all-time favourites to put in a diffuser it gives a motivating and uplifting aroma. I use 3 drops of each in my Lumo Diffuser.

2 ways to use empty oil bottles

We have our own made roller bottles around the house, the bottles are great for little hands or hands that might need something a bit bigger to hold onto. I use every drop out of my bottles, you just remove the oil reducer to get those last few drops out.
I made a touch roller with Easy Air, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Siberian Fir for the boys when they feel a cough coming on.
The spray I made will be for the toilet upstairs it has Lemon, Wild Orange and Lemongrass. Hopefully to get rid of the boys smells 😂😂
