Make a plastic bottle bird feeder.

Did you know that only around 9% of the plastic we make gets recycled and that INCLUDES what we actually put out for recycling.

So, rather than let it all go to landfills, why not reuse your plastic and turn it into something beneficial for the environment?

When looking at reducing harm, remember this order...

1. REDUCE - if you don't need it, don't buy it.
2. REUSE - if you do have to buy it, can you reuse it?
3. RECYCLE - if you can't reuse it, can you recycle it?

We're all fans of turtles, reefs, fish, and dolphins (list not exhaustive), right?

So why aren't we acting like it?

Around 130,000 tonnes of plastics are leaked into the Australian marine environment every year. That's the same weight as 1000 blue whales.

Yes, companies and industries MUST do their parts, but so do we.

Turning around climate change is going to be a collective effort that involves taking radical responsibility for our actions and CHOOSING to do BETTER where we can.

Climate change is a direct cause of Injuries and illness, and patients affected by it are coming soon to a healthcare system near you!

These include those sick or injured through extreme weather, heat, respiratory issues, water and vector-borne diseases, zoonoses, malnutrition, NCDs, and poor mental and psychosocial health.

If you work in healthcare, I’m sorry to say that you’re not average… you use WAY more than that.

But that’s not your fault, up until now you’ve been given no other option.

Oh wow... this is SUCH a good idea!

Here's another thought...
..I often think it would be great if the cost of disposing of any item we purchase should be built into the cost of buying it - bearing in mind that as far as we know, plastic is around for hundreds of years... if not, forever.
