The traumatic experiences in my early life accelerated my Awakening shall we say. Thirty years ago I was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of my first mentor. She was a colour therapist and clairvoyant/psychic/medium- and she showed me the gifts I already had and she helped me develop them further.
My Awakening had been gradually enough, building in the background until it was kick-started one afternoon. I was settling in for a relaxing meditation when suddenly this HUGE eye appeared and it was staring directly at me. Into my soul. I totally freaked out! What the hell was that? This eye was enormous and wide open. As an awakened soul yourself you are probably nodding at this point - but at that age, that point in my life, I had no clue what the symbolism of this was.
Shortly after this experience I became aware I could ‘see and feel the colours’ Lesley was sending me in healing (yeah I had my eyes closed). Not only could I ‘see’ the colours (probably through that massive eye that seemed to be there the moment I tuned in ...lol) but I could feel where she was directing these colours in my body and could sense how different the vibrations felt. So I’d say it was around that time - that’s when I really ‘consciously’ got to work, developing an altogether ‘different’ skillset from my friends.
The reality was though, I had been intuitive as far back as I could remember. The best way to describe this is as a ‘knowing’ and dreams that were not only premonitions but seemed to be my body travelling elsewhere during sleep. I used to be a cross country runner and the night before the Scottish School Championships I had a dream I was being chased by someone with a gun. The landscape was hilly, but lined with paddocks, trees and burns and in my dream I was jumping over fences and ducking under branches to get away. Well what do you know, the next day, the Starter’s Gun sounded and I was off. You’ve guessed it - it was exactly the same landscape, right down to where I jumped the fence and ducked under the trees. I had never been to that location in my life before that day! So things like this were happening on a fairly regular basis.
Around that time I was (and still am) a professional writer. Not long after what I call my ‘conscious awakening’ I took on the role of Deputy Editor of Natural Health & Wellbeing in the UK. Of course, there are no accidents and I realise looking back - I was meant to mix with and learn from all the amazing healers and practitioners out there. The aim of the title was to demystify complementary therapies and explore the Mind, Body, Spirit connection (holistic health) so you can imagine, I interviewed some interesting people and experimented with a range of therapies.
Beyond what I did under the guise of ‘work’ I kept a lot of my own spiritual exploration to myself - it was private. This was still a time when you were seen as a bit of a nettle boiling hippy if you dabbled in such things - and it took me a long time to be comfortable with who I ‘felt’ I truly was. A writer AND a healer/light worker/empath/witch/spiritual/intuitive type - (all the while rejecting the big ‘man’ God in the sky narrative).
Nowadays I am blessed to still work as a writer - in fact I have just ghostwritten a title for internationally acclaimed psychic medium Peter Williams called Searching Spirit which was just recently published. The reviews have been outstanding so I am very proud of both of us for creating that piece of work. I also provide mentoring for aspiring writers and support them on their journeys to becoming authors themselves. The Transformation theme is strong in my own writing and I do look for it in other’s - whether that’s on an emotional, physical or on a more spiritual level.
I love my healing work and I am very lucky to have a dedicated space on our 2.5 acre property on the Central Coast NSW. From here I run my clinic, provide healings, readings and spiritual/spirit insights as well as a range of sessions and workshops. I am a qualified Akashic Healer (and I am able to read your Akashic Records to help you answer some of the questions you may have about patterns in your life). I am also an accredited Reiki Practitioner.
These are just a few of the healings I put out there on my ‘shop front’ so to speak. If you really want to delve deeper you will find more on my FB page or on my website. Naturally I work with Crystals, Colour, Energy/Vibration, Spirit - and I also work with nature and the seasons/cycles and I LOVE animals - and Animals love Reiki. I also honour my mentors, ancestors and the maternal line.
There may be things on my page that do not resonate with you and that is absolutely fine - there are other things that will - the middle line tends to be where the growth occurs. It is SO important to be true to yourself and your own soul’s journey. If something does not sit right with you, then move on until you find what resonates with you. We all have our own healings, our own teachers and mentors and our own journey to find. Most importantly we must take responsibility for our own healing.
It’s the obvious evolution that my two worlds should intertwine - healing/spiritual growth and writing, which is why, I am very excited to offer a range of writing workshops and mentorship programmes to the spiritual community.
