Spring is here in Tasmania and in Chinese medicine, it’s the season of growth, renewal, and fresh beginnings. 🌱

According to the Five Elements, spring is linked to the Wood element, the Liver & Gallbladder, and the energy of movement and vision. Just like plants pushing up through the soil, this is the time for new projects, clear energy, and flexibility, both in body and mind.

✨ To live in harmony with spring:

🌿 Eat fresh greens and sprouts, seasonal spring produce
🧘 Move daily with gentle stretching, walking (add some spinal twists to help that Liver Qi!)
🌸 Set new intentions for the months ahead
😌 Support your emotional balance with acupuncture

Both acupuncture & herbal medicine can help you align with the season, whether that means easing stress, supporting energy flow, spring allergies, or boosting your immune system back up after the cold/flu season.

Book your spring session today and feel your Qi blossom with the season 🌼🌷💛

Degree Qualified and AHPRA Registered Acupuncturist & Chinese herbal medicine practitioner - you are in safe hands.

Acupuncture FAQ time!! 🤸🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️

One of the most common questions about acupuncture is: How many sessions will it take to see results?

While every person is different, here’s a rough guide:

✅ Acute conditions (recent pain, injury, stress flare-ups, birth prep): 4-6 treatments, often 1–2 times per week.

✅ Chronic conditions (long-term pain, migraines, digestive issues, insomnia, fertility): 6–12 treatments, typically weekly or biweekly. This will vary and of course depends on the nature of the problem, and how long you have been struggling with it.

✅ Preventative/maintenance care (for overall wellness & balance): Monthly or seasonal tune-ups.

Generally speaking, you graduate through each level as your body heals and you start to feel better. I like to start everyone on a minimum of once per week, and then we space you out to fortnightly, then monthly for maintenance.

From the maintenance point on you might book every 6-8 weeks, or 4-6 months, depending on how you are going (and providing a new issue doesn’t arise 😅)!

You may also be prescribed herbal medicine or supplements, which might be needed for 3-4 months, also depending on how you progress!

Please enquire if you’d like to learn more, or explore how Acupuncture & Chinese medicine may help support your health goals. ✨

And, if you have any questions about acupuncture you'd like answered, let me know!! 🧡

🍂 Autumn is here...

You may have noticed the days feeling slightly darker, and the mornings slightly cooler. I know I am really feeling it... It has been much more difficult than usual getting out of bed 😂

The time has come to finally slow down a little bit from the business of the Summer season 🍂 🍁

And what better time to start thinking about Autumn foods, of course! 🍐

As the weather cools, nourish your body with fresh, seasonal foods that support immunity, digestion, and lung health in Chinese Medicine. This will help prepare you for the cooler months ahead.

🥕 Veggies: Pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks.

🍐 Fruits: Pears (great for the lungs!), apples, persimmons, mandarins, pomegranates.

🌰 Nuts & Seeds: Walnuts, almonds, chestnuts, sesame seeds.

🌾 Grains & Legumes: Oats, brown rice, barley, lentils.

Eat warm, nourishing meals to stay balanced this season! 🍵✨

Pregnancy is a transformative journey, and Chinese Medicine offers incredible support throughout this time — and even into postpartum care. 🧡

Acupuncture is a safe, calming treatment for many conditions that may arise during pregnancy. When started early, it can also serve as a preventative measure, helping to manage symptoms before they worsen.

Between your regular midwife or OB check-ups, acupuncture provides gentle support. It helps bridge the gaps and offers a moment of stillness and care for your body and mind.

Supporting pregnancy is one of the most rewarding parts of being a Chinese Medicine practitioner. It is THE BEST part of my job! 🧡🌸🧡

During your session, you'll relax in a peaceful, quiet space where you can nap, meditate, or simply unwind while the acupuncture pins are at work. Many women describe the experience as deeply soothing, leaving them feeling refreshed and nurtured.

Some of the conditions which acupuncture may be beneficial include:

🌱 Early pregnancy support
🌱 Nausea & Vomiting
🌱 Heartburn/acid reflux
🌱 Constipation
🌱 Aches & pains
🌱 Sleep disturbances/insomnia
🌱 Birth preparation
🌱 Post-natal care & support
+ more!
