COVID-19 Update for 2022
With advice from the Department of Health, public health orders, and best practice recommendations, we have considered the vulnerability of our clinic populations, the risk of exposure, and our duty of care to both individual and public health.
We have decided that in order for in-person services to safely continue, all staff, clients, and visitors of Sheridan Psychologists must be fully vaccinated (at least 2 doses of an approved vaccine) for face-to-face appointments from 1st January 2022.
From 1st January 2022, we will require that all clients and visitors aged 16 years up provide evidence of their vaccination status via their Check In Qld app (for instructions, please visit www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld/digital-vaccination-certificate):
• This applies to every client and any person accompanying a client to their appointment.
• This does not apply to anyone who cannot receive any of the COVID-19 vaccines due to a medical contraindication – in this instance, your medical exemption certificate may also be displayed via your Check In Qld app.
• This does not apply to anyone aged under 12 years. Those aged 12-15 years are encouraged (but not required) to be vaccinated.
• Printouts, letters, screenshots, etc. will not be accepted as evidence of status.
For those who are not vaccinated or do not wish to disclose their vaccination status, we will discuss your options for telehealth services with us, or we will provide recommendations for alternative clinics, with a handover where appropriate.
Given this change, we will be providing an informed consent form for continuing in-person services in 2022.
Thank you,
Sheridan Psychologists
