We’re looking for 2 Casual Dental Assistants to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the role:
• Approximately 4 days per week
• Assisting our dentists and team in delivering high-quality patient care
• Working in a positive, team-focused environment

What we’re looking for:
• Experience preferred, but not essential (training provided)
• A genuine passion for patient care
• Strong communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
• Someone who is thorough, organised, and detail-oriented

At the same time, we value commitment, accountability, and taking pride in your work — strong work ethic and professionalism are essential.

Pay & Conditions:
• Employment under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020
• Casual hourly rates + applicable penalties and superannuation
• Pay will be based on experience, skills, and classification under the award

At the same time, we’re excited to officially welcome Matilda, who completed work experience with us and is now starting as a Dental Assistant through the School-Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships (SBAT) program. We love supporting young people stepping into healthcare careers and can’t wait to see you grow, Matilda.

🕣 8:30am – 5:00pm shifts
⏱ Includes 15 min paid break + 45 min unpaid lunch break

✨ That’s a wrap for the year at Watkins Dental & Orthodontics ✨

Today was our final day of operation for the year, and we couldn’t finish without saying a heartfelt thank you.

It’s been a big year filled with dedication, long days, teamwork, and caring for our wonderful community. We are so grateful to our patients for your trust and to our incredible team for the hard work and commitment you bring every single day.

We’ll now be taking a short break to rest, recharge, and return with renewed energy.

🎄✨ Happy 1st of December, Inverell! ✨🎄
As we step into the festive season, we want to give everyone a notice about our upcoming holiday break.

Watkins Dental & Orthodontics will be closed from 20 December and will reopen on 5 January.

With a few weeks to go, now is the perfect time to check in on:
✔️ Any lingering toothache
✔️ Sensitivity that’s getting worse
✔️ Broken fillings or chipped teeth
✔️ Orthodontic bracket or wire issues
✔️ Anything you’ve been “putting off until later”

December always books up quickly, and we want to make sure no one is stuck with dental pain over Christmas. If you think you might need us before the break, please reach out early so we can fit you in.

Thank you for your trust and support throughout the year — we’re excited to finish 2025 strong and return in January with fresh energy! 💙

This week we welcomed Alice Gleeson from Macintyre High School Inverell into the Watkins Dental team for her Year 10 work experience — and she started strong with her Hand Hygiene Certificate and full induction on day one under the guidance of our training master, Ebony.

Alice came in wanting to understand what really happens behind the scenes in a dental surgery, and she embraced every learning opportunity. She discovered how cavities are filled, how retainers are made (her favourite!), how sterilisation works, and how much teamwork goes into caring for each patient.

We’ve known Alice as a volunteer coach for our Toothless Taggers for two years, and she brought that same kindness, responsibility and positive energy into the clinic this week.

Alice, thank you for your enthusiasm, curiosity and wonderful attitude. We’re so excited to see where your future takes you. 🌟
