Did you know the end of your spinal cord is called the cauda equina – Latin for “horse’s tail”? 🐎
It’s named this way because the bundle of nerves looks just like a horse’s tail!

These nerves are crucial, as they control feeling and movement in your legs, hips, and bladder. That’s why spinal health is so important!🌿

✅ Regular chiropractic care helps keep your spine aligned and your nervous system functioning at its best.

National WorkSpace Week (20-26 October 2025) is dedicated to the prevention and early intervention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), Australia’s most common workplace injury which also accounts for the majority (57%) of workers’ compensation claims for serious injuries. SafeWork NSW reports the cost for serious WMSD claims requiring one or more weeks absence, averaged almost $65k per claim between 2018-2023.

WorkSpace Week aligns with Safe Work Australia’s ‘Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) Strategy 2023–2033’ developed to create safe and healthy workspaces for everybody and to lessen the long-term impact on workers, employers, and the economy by improving the spinal health and wellbeing of all workers vulnerable to work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

Adjust your thinking this WorkSpace Week to work well every day, because prevention is the best protection!

Prevention and early intervention is the best protection against work-related injuries.

Adjust your thinking and consult a chiro to help prevent and treat workspace musculoskeletal injuries like back pain, neck pain and discomfort and cervicogenic headaches.

By seeking early intervention, ACA chiropractors can provide effective treatment options to help prevent deterioration, improve recovery, reduce severity and help avoid long-term implications including depression and overuse or reliance on medications for chronic pain.

This WorkSpace Week, adjust your thinking to work well every day!

Do you know the modifiable risk factors that trigger WMSDs?

Poorly executed lifting, pushing, pulling or bending, using computers in non-ergonomic workspaces (in an office or at home), poor posture, driving and repetitive strain injuries, and mental stress are the leading activities which can trigger work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

ACA chiropractors provide holistic healthcare and guidance on how to prevent work-related back and neck injuries.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) – what are they?
A range of inflammatory and degenerative conditions affecting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, peripheral nerves and supporting blood vessels, WMSDs may be caused by a single workspace event, but commonly result from repeated harmful workspace activities over an extended period of time.

WorkSpace Week aims to reduce the occurrence and impact of WMSDs caused by physical stress, mental stress, repetitive work and poorly set up non-ergonomic workspaces. Chronic neck and back pain, shoulder stiffness and headaches can be linked to modifiable risk factors in Australian workplaces.

This WorkSpace Week (20-26 Oct), adjust your thinking to work well every day!

It’s WorkSpace Week! 20-26 October

Work well every day to maintain workspace health! According to Safe Work Australia work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are the leading work, health and safety issue impacting Australian workers in terms of cost and frequency.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also identified WMSDs as the leading cause of persistent pain conditions worldwide and the second-largest contributor to disability, with low back pain being the top cause of disability globally.
