🐎 We’re Hiring – Female Disability Support Worker - Horse Experience Essential 🐎

Cherie’s Country Care is seeking a female disability support worker for a specific participant who lives a horse-focused, rural lifestyle. This is a specialised role and would suit someone confident around horses and comfortable on a horse property.

About the role:

This position involves supporting a female participant with day-to-day on farm tasks that may include:

• Feeding up
• Safe horse handling
• Assisting with general horse and property management
• Responding calmly and practically when issues arise

This is not a generic support role – it requires a unique skill set and someone who understands both horses and person-centred support.

About you:
✔ Female (participant requirement)
✔ Confident and experienced with horses
✔ Reliable, calm and practical
✔ A great communicator
✔ Able to follow directions and work independently
✔ Respectful, patient and safety-focused

Hours:
This role is for a few hours per week, located near Kalbar, includes some weekends - there may be opportunities to support other participants also if the fit is right.

If you’re passionate about meaningful support, comfortable in a rural setting, and bring strong horse-handling skills, we’d love to hear from you.

📩 To apply:
Please send a brief message outlining your experience with horses and disability support, or your interest in working in this space.

🌾 This week we truly put the Country in Cherie’s Country Care! 🐄

From paddocks to pastures, our team supported a participant on the farm with their cattle - and let’s just say our bush skills were well and truly put to the test!

✨ We witnessed the miracle of a calf being born
🐮 Supported hands-on cattle care
🚜 Experienced real farm life
🩺 Navigated a vet call-out
💚 And shared moments that only the country can offer

This is what person-centred support looks like - meeting people where they are, embracing their lifestyle, interests, and environment and most importantly staying focussed on their goals.

All in a day’s work for Cherie’s Country Care, and a perfect example of the multi-skilled, adaptable, and passionate team we’re so grateful to have.

Because support isn’t one-size-fits-all - sometimes it comes with mud on your boots and memories that last a lifetime 🌱

📍 Proudly supporting our community, the country way.
