We all have those go-to drinks … but are they actually supporting your cells, energy, and mood?
Here’s what’s really happening inside your body:
🍷 Alcohol
A natural diuretic — it makes your kidneys release more water than you take in. Even one drink can lead to thirst, headaches, fatigue and slower recovery. It’s not just a hangover… it’s dehydration.
☕ Coffee
Coffee contains water, but caffeine can increase fluid loss, especially if you’re already low. Signs it’s dehydrating you: dry mouth, energy crashes, and relying on “another cup” instead of water.
🥤 Sugary Drinks
Soft drinks, juices, iced teas, sports drinks — the sugar pulls water into the digestive tract and away from your cells. This often leads to bloating, more thirst, blood sugar spikes, and cellular dehydration. Your cells simply can’t absorb this fluid like clean mineralised water.
💦 Sparkling Water
Refreshing, yes — hydrating, not really. Carbonation can increase acidity, cause bloating, slow absorption, and make you feel “full” before you’ve hydrated. Without minerals, your cells don’t get what they need.
✨ So What Hydrates Best?
Clean, mineral-rich, structured water. Your body needs minerals and electrolytes to actually absorb what you drink.
This is why I personally use (and recommend) Zazen Alkaline Water Systems. They support:
• Better hydration
• Improved energy
• Balanced pH
• Mineral replenishment
• Clean, great-tasting water your body actually uses
