Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well.
My community, all my lovelies, and families are never far from my mind.

Just letting you know that I am still on extended leave.

I will continue to post random things that aim to empower, educate or share a post that I believe might be of value to someone in this space.

Note to self... hang in there. You've got this.

ā€œMum, what is the NDIS and how does it help familiesā€

Kids - I don’t even know any more… and apparently neither does the federal government!

I’m trying to wrap my head around today’s NDIS announcement: children with mild to moderate autism or developmental delays are being shifted off the NDIS and into a new ā€œThriving Kidsā€ program, backed by $2 billion, and due to start rolling from mid‑2026 .

It feels like another bombshell dropped without any real roadmap, co‑design or consultation. We’re told the NDIS has grown unsustainably — with 70 % of new entrants in 2024 having autism — but redirected children are being left without clarity on what they will actually receive in place of individualised funding .

What about funding structures, goals, and long‑term support?
No firm guidelines. No clear evidence. States and territories are supposed to step in — foundational supports are supposed to fill the gaps - but where are they??

What about the language — ā€œmild to moderate autismā€?
It’s reductive, stereotyped, and ignores how autistic support needs fluctuate across life stages. When you label someone as ā€œmildā€ you strip away the nuance, glossing over the lifelong work and flexible support building that actually happen. Capacity building isn’t linear — it’s dynamic, and demanding. Yet the program design seems blind to that.

Is there real evidence behind Thriving Kids?
Is it even sustainable? Where’s the independent evaluation or transparency to reassure us this isn’t just cost‑cutting dressed up as reform? Or that this program too will be over utilised in years to come..

Meanwhile, families continue to experience growing stress and distress. This cumulative trauma of announcements, uncertainty, and relentless transition feels like a capacity‑building scheme built on family breakdown, not empowerment.

So, where to from here? I honestly don’t know… and apparently neither does the federal government. What I do know is: families deserve more than opaque headlines. We deserve clarity. We deserve collaboration. We deserve respect and real support — long term, flexible, evidence‑informed, and co‑designed.

Again we say

🌿✨ Healing the Wise Way — with Nature, Animals & Connection ✨🐓

There’s a deep, ancient wisdom in nature. The kind that doesn’t rush. The kind that teaches through presence, stillness, breath, and genuine connection.

Animals, especially horses, reflect this wisdom back to us. They don’t judge, they don’t interrupt, they simply respond — to our energy, our emotions, our unspoken truths.

In my work as a facilitator of Equine Assisted Learning, Wellness & Development, I’ve witnessed how spending time with horses in a natural setting can: 🌿 Reset the nervous system
🐓 Build core strength, balance & coordination
šŸ’š Teach kindness, compassion & authentic communication
šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø Support breath awareness & emotional regulation
🌻 Encourage capacity building & personal growth

These are not new ideas — they’re ancient, alternative, and deeply wise ways of healing that our modern world is slowly remembering.

If you or someone you know feels called to explore a different path to wellness — one that involves hooves, heartbeats, and the healing embrace of nature — I invite you to reach out.
✨ Let’s walk this path of connection, insight & embodied healing together. ✨
