🐰 A Couple of New Additions… Just Not the Equine Kind! 🐰

Alison’s Equine Embrace has welcomed two new little additions, while they may not have hooves, they still need plenty of help 🤍

We now have two rabbits who are needing some gentle practice with handling and building confidence around people.

Working with them uses the same skills we focus on with the horses:
✨ Calmness
✨ Care
✨ Patience
✨ Body Awareness

Rabbits are incredibly sensitive, so they really encourage a soft, regulated approach. They can be a great for participants who are not quite up for the challenge of working with a horse on the day.

Usually goodbyes are difficult but this one feels very different. Over the weekend we said goodbye to Peanut. Peanut is with a former work college from Horses for Hope, which means this isn't really a goodbye at all. There is always the possibility that Peanut might come back for a visit from time to time. His paddock mate Simon misses him but for now he can enjoy the ladies (Breeze and gem) all to himself ☺️

With the new year already well on it's way, Gem is already ticking things off her list of new things she’s learning. ✨

Gem was introduced to the tyres a few weeks ago, and earlier this week she learned to step up on top of the tyre. She’s still working on coordinating her brain and feet, but she’s giving it a red-hot go!

✨ What a wonderful way to spend the school holidays! ✨

I had the absolute pleasure of running a school holiday program with two brothers, and it was such a joy to watch their confidence, teamwork, and individual strengths shine.

The boys learned new skills, turned Peanut into a rainbow unicorn, painted their own horse portraits, and discovered what caring for a horse is all about.

A fun, creative, and hands-on holiday experience filled with smiles, learning, and memorable moments 🐴🎨🌈
