World first Psilocybin assisted Therapy treatment given at Monarch Mental Health Group Wednesday 10th April

And this is what it looks like when it arrives from pharmacy !

Other than in clinical Trials and compassionate use schemes this is the first time in the world that Psilocybin has been used in a clinical setting as part of a regular treatment program

I am really excited that patients in Australia with Treatment resistant Depression and PTSD now have access to both Psilocybin assisted therapy and M**A assisted therapy.

Australia is leading the world in translating psychedelic research into clinical practice

Australia became the first country in the world to allow psychiatrists to prescribe psilocybin and M**A but 6 months later less than 10 clinicians are approved to authorise the drugs.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental illness resulting from trauma–events that are very stressful or frightening. Symptoms can include nightmares, flashbacks, difficulty sleeping and concentrating, and feelings of isolation, irritability, and avoidance of similar situations

Around 3 million Australians will experience PTSD at some point in their lives, yet not everyone treated with currently approved interventions will make a full recovery.

Today I wrote the first ever regular normal script for M**A a psychedelic medicine in world

It was part of psychedelic assisted therapy for a lady with Chronic PTSD

A career highlight experience for me and achieved more for this lady in day than would normally have been achieved in a year
