Today lots of the midwives of Brisbane gathered together at ITAV to refresh our breech training and focus on our hands on skills and knowledge of breech manoeuvres. So we can better support the women and babies we serve.

Our February gathering is a fundraiser for Mother’s heart organisation in Cambodia. There are 2000 maternal deaths each year in Cambodia. 1 in 3 children are used in labour work. And children without support from charities like this are 50% more likely to be human trafficked. Mae’t is heading over end of March to help train and do frontline care for the women and babies at Mother’s Heart. Please dig deep and buy some raffle tickets and join us on the 26th Feb for a lovely cake filled high tea. Midwife Mae’t is volunteering at Mother’s heart Cambodia at the end of March. Going to teach and train the midwives and care for the women and babies in two cities of Cambodia. Please support as generously as you can so these women can have the best start in life.

It Takes A Village

Midwife Meg and Midwife Mae’t have been working together to support women and families in the Brisbane area to achieve positive and calm pregnancy, birth and postnatal journeys since 2015.

Together we have experience in Hypnobirthing, Spinning Babies, Tapping therapy and fear releases for better birthing. Meg has a great eye and hand for henna art on pregnant bellies. We can facilitate women’s circles and mother blessing ceremonies to create the village that is so needed in our community. Our statistics speak for themselves with great outcomes, high satisfaction levels, high unmedicated, vaginal birth rates, lots of waterbirths and good outcomes for healthy and happy mums and babies.

We both strongly support women’s autonomy in decision making around childbearing and see our role as one of providing evidence based, individualised care for families.
