I am an educated professional who lives with a disability and now works as a sole trader providing services across the allied health fields to enable individualized and holistic support needs for families and individuals. I hold qualifications and have extensive lived and professional experience with complex behaviors, mental health, physical and emotional disability and trauma. I have a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and this year will complete a Master of Disability Practice and Leadership (Developmental Educator). The goal of my work is to help people reach their goals. I have a wide scope of practice and skill sets that have evolved around both professional and personal experiences. I like to have discussions with the client and family to determine what is the best service I could provide or if I am actually the right person to work with them. Sometimes the best service I can provide is recommendation or referral to other services. In relation to the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions Model, I was first introduced to the model about 10 years ago when I was really struggling with my then 4-year-old son. Over the years I used bits and pieces of the model and figured anything is better than nothing as there was not much access to services that provided further learning here in Australia. In November 2023 I attended Dr Green's Introduction and Advanced workshops in Melbourne and my passion and enthusiasm for the model exploded. I could actually reflect on how I was actually naturally using part of the model and I really wanted to learn how to do it better as I knew that it worked (even when I was only partly doing it). This led me to undertake the certification process during 2024. This involved mastering my skills in delivering the CPS model, in particular the Plan B and then working with various families, individuals and teachers from around Australia to teach them how to implement the model. I received my certification in October 2024 and will be starting online coaching programs in early 2025.
