KI Medical Clinic will be very restricted on appointment accessibility this week due to last minute emergency changes to the doctors availabilities, meaning we are only operating with a limited number of medical staff on site.

🔵Please be patient with our staff as we try to navigate how to best serve our community.🔵

If your appointment is non-urgent please consider booking ahead.
If you feel like you need emergency assistance please dial 000 or present to the Kangaroo Island Health Service.

Alternative care providers on island includes the Community Nursing Team which run via the Cook Centre (phone 8553 4231) who also run outreach locations at Parndana, Penneshaw and American River with Nurse Practitioner Hamish.

If you have a more general medical enquiry you can also contact the HealthDirect helpline - this is a bulk billed service and is answered by a registered nurse who will discuss your concerns with you. It can help if you are not sure if you should see a doctor or manage your condition at home. Phone 1800 022 222 at any time day or night.

Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic welcomes Dr Jeremy So!

Dr So will be joining our team from 13th – 31st October.

We’re excited to have him here, and we encourage you to give him a warm welcome during his time with us.

Dr Jeremy So is a Queensland-trained specialist General Practitioner working in the North Brisbane / Moreton Bay Region. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland and has worked in both the public and private health sectors. Being passionate about providing patients with holistic, personalised care, Jeremy utilises a balanced approach to treating all health conditions, employing both medical and lifestyle therapies. Known for his approachable and friendly bedside manner, Jeremy has excellent communication skills and is diligent in-patient advocacy. Jeremy specialises in lifestyle therapies and chronic disease management, and as a passionate interest in Mental Health and Weight Loss Management.

Owen brings a wealth of experience in rural medicine, and his dedication to patient care is truly inspiring. He’s known for going the extra mile—often stepping in to support our team and patients, even outside his scheduled hours.

His commitment to excellence and teamwork makes him a perfect fit for our clinic’s values.

Outside of medicine, Owen is involved in music and community life, with strong ties to the local Anglican Church through his wife, Rev. Mary Owen. His presence adds depth and warmth to our team, and we’re so grateful to have him working part-time with us.
