Welcome Dr Moray Wilson. Dr Wilson is a specialist GP who trained in Scotland and the UK. He moved to Australia in 2006 and worked in various hospital-based jobs throughout the country, before relocating to Tasmania to complete his GP specialist training and obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs. Dr Wilson has been a GP in Redcliffe since 2018 and has special interests in Skin cancer care and Sports medicine.

National Stroke Week (4-10 August) encourages the community to know the F.A.S.T. (Face, Arms, Speech and Time) signs of stroke so that they can save a life in the event of a loved one experiencing a stroke.

Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions:

❗Face - Check their face. Has their mouth drooped or is it numb? Can the person smile or is it uneven?

❗Arms - Can they lift both arms? Is one arm weak or numb, or does one arm drift downward?

❗Speech - Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?

❗Time - Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 straight away. Note the time when any of the symptoms first appear?

A stroke is always a medical emergency. Keep looking at your mum, dad, love and mates, it could save their life.
