When you go against your intuition just to please another, the outcome is never going to be favourable. Wherever & whenever you feel that tinge of dread in your body, listen and take note. It is your soul or higher self’s way of warning you of danger, do not dismiss it. However you choose to act on that feeling, you must own the outcome. If the outcome is negative, you can treat the outcome as a lesson and learn from it, but you don’t get to blame another or portray yourself as a victim. You must take responsibility for your choices and actions, otherwise you will forever be a victim.
To get out of the victim mindset it is crucial to gain an understanding of why you make the choices you do.
Start by asking yourself just two questions. (There are about 30 more, we will come to them)
• Why do I feel as though my needs are not important,
• why do I need others approval,
To answer just these two questions, in relation to your need to please, you will possibly be able to fill a notebook. You will find the eventual answer is usually that you have not felt and do not feel valued and you have no idea of your intrinsic worth. The answers are always going to come back to how you value yourself, how you judge yourself and most importantly your lack of self-love.
Remember: Blaming removes your responsibility for your decision making and denigrates your power.
