St.LukesHealth

St.LukesHealth St Lukes is a not-for-profit health fund, providing Health Insurance to Australians since 1952. At St Lukes, we’re committing to make Tasmanians healthier.

We know there’s a problem to solve. We also know that no one person, organisation or government can do it on their own. As a Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation, we’re going to be part of the solution. We’re imagining a healthier Tasmania – one where people are informed, empowered and confident about their health and their choices. Join us, as we work to make Tasmania the healthiest island on the planet.

What's it like to operate on someone's beating heart, while they're still awake? ❤️‍🩹

Dr Brian Herman has spent his forty-year career repairing failing hearts through the tiniest of incisions. Join the Clifford Craig Foundation and Petrarch's Bookshop in our Launceston wellness hub on Tuesday 31st March for the launch of Becoming That Guy by Dr Brian Herman, a medical memoir.

With engaging directness, Herman reflects on what it takes, the judgement that comes from experience, and on what it's like to become that guy: the one you call when all else has failed.
