From little sheds, big sheds grow 💪

To Terry, Rosanne, Erin, and Soph….what a generous, selfless family - like no other. What a pleasure to have been alongside all four of these humans for the making of Terry’s Shed 💙💙💙

To the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Tasmania and MND Victoria for listening, running with the vision, and formalising the accessibility of equipment. Improving the opportunity for our MND/KD community to remain in their homes, close to family and friends, offers much needed hope. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!

⚠️ URGENT RECALL - CHILDREN'S PLAY SAND: An urgent recall notice has been issued for children’s sand products that may contain asbestos sold nationwide at Officeworks, Educating Kids, Modern Teaching Aids and Zart Art.

The sand is designed for children to play with and for educational purposes and is labelled as Kadink Sand (1.3kg), Educational Colours - Rainbow Sand (1.3kg) and Creatistics - Coloured Sand (1kg).

The products were recalled because they may contain tremolite asbestos, a naturally occurring asbestos, which was detected in some samples after laboratory testing. Asbestos is a prohibited substance in Australia.

⚠️Stop using the products immediately - place the sand in a heavy-duty plastic bag and double tape it securely and keep it out of reach of children.
🚫IMPORTANT: Do not dispose of this product in general waste or kebside collection bins.
✅Asbestos contaminated waste can be taken to the Launceston Waste Transfer Station weekdays between 10am and 2pm - please inform staff on arrival so it can be disposed of safely in line with EPA requirements. Charges apply for commercial operators.

Contact recalls@educationalvantage.com for further guidance around disposal and seeking a full refund.

For MND carers every day is the longest day.

Motor neurone disease is devastating. It robs people of their independence, their ability to move, speak and ultimately breathe. And it impacts on their families and friends too. Many MND carers dedicate more than 100 hours to caring a week – with little or no financial support.

We want to change that.

47% of unpaid carers report worrying about money.

Almost half report that caring has caused them financial difficulty.

Increasing the rate of Carer’s Allowance would make a significant difference. So today, on Global MND Awareness Day, please support our call for improved care and greater provision for unpaid carers and ask your General Election candidates to sign the MND Guarantee.

Get involved!

Ask your friends, family and colleagues to sign the MND Guarantee – make it easy for them by linking to it on social media.

Use and to spread the word on social media.

A cruel and incurable disease took former TV personality Fiona MacDonald's voice, and her trademark quick wit and banter with it. But she's not staying silent.
