Good afternoon, another common problem I've come across in the last 5 years is with Mitsubishi Triton 2.4L diesels with the exhaust manifold cracking.
The new manifold is a genuine revised part also.

Another interesting diagnostic and repair last week. Had a 2016 Mazda Cx-5 with a check engine light and P0401 EGR insufficient flow code. Found the EGR cooler to be completely blocked with carbon and the intake manifold also.

Fitted a new EGR Cooler along with removing the intake manifold, cleaning it, the throttle body, both EGR valves and the intake runners inside the head.

Carbon build up wasn't caused by anything other then normal operation.

Another burnt out starter motor on a 2.2L series 2 Holden Captiva.

The customer was only quoted a new starter motor from another mobile mechanic without knowing it needs a harness aswell or warranty would be voided due to it also being a failure point due to vibration and rubbing on the body of the car.

Good afternoon, another happy customer today with a 2025 300 series landcruiser. Wanted a Redarc tow pro and 2 anderson plugs installed to his brand new vehicle.

Made some custom stainless brackets to mount the fuse block and Tow pro unit firmly behind the dash.

Note to anyone with a Diesel vehicle. Fuel filters in comparison to diesel injectors, pump or an entire engine are very cheap insurance.

This customer hadn't changed there's for 40k kms which is double what most manufacturers recommend.
On the other hand here at Lade Automotive I would recommend doing one every service so 10-15,000kms.

You can see from the photo just how clogged and dirty this filter was in comparison to a brand new one next to it and if left for another service could've been catastrophic for the vehicle and owner.

Filters are cheap in comparison to expensive fuel system/engine components.

Small job this afternoon, customer came to me with messages in his dash saying his tail, brake, indicator and reverse lights were inoperative on the LH side.
Found the problem being poor aftermarket crimps. Removed the crimps and opted for solder and heatshrink bringing it back to a factory look.

Over the last couple days I had a fun job of cleaning up the engine bay wiring in preparation for a customer's 4wd trip to the mainland.
This is part 1 of 2 of the work I'm carrying out for him.
All the relays and fuses have been securely housed in the distribution box mounted to the catch can bracket. Corrugated tubing and heat shrink applied to all the cables for cable protection and security on his trip.

Part 2 will include a Kickass powerboss install with a 'house' battery in the vehicle.

Was a very fun and interesting job to do and I look forward to finishing this one off for him over the coming weeks.
