This weeks theme..might sound a little less yoga like..but it's deeply embedded in yoga. Stemming from Buddhism we will touch on the three poisons on both our flow\yin class and our longer dedicated yin practice which will also incorporate some myoyin.

The three "poisons" and root cause of suffering are Attachment (gripping onto what we want), Aversion (pushing away what we don't), and Ignorance (disconnecting from our present reality).

But these aren't just abstract thoughts; they are physical responses. We hold them in our fascia as tension, and in our nervous system as stress. When we cling, we clench. When we resist, we brace. When we disconnect, we lose our vital internal awareness.

This week at Zen Hen Yoga, we are exploring how these three patterns show up in the body. Through somatic movement and deep interoception, we’ll practice noticing where we are gripping or resisting, and gently invite the body to let go.

Join me on the mat this week to move, notice, and release.

I have just finished another 20 hours of teacher training, nearing 400 hours now. I chose to dive deeper into yin, undertaking Gabrielle Harris's Language or Yin online teacher training.

Many of my regulars have already heard me sharing some of the wisdom and learnings from this course.

I adored every minute of this course, both the new ideas and inspirations as well as the reassurances and like-minded or rather like natureded ...approach to teaching yin yoga.

I had to slot the learning in when I could, most always accompanied by a pet of some sort! I've done all sorts of learning in my life so far ..but this... Deepening my love and knowledge of yoga and getting to do yoga at the same time.. this is the best!!! (Waaaaaay better than statistic 101 😂)

I've included a few of Gabrielle's shared quotes in this post ❤️

Im looking forward to sharing more with you all in the studio

Thanks

Super daggy! But hey.. sharing the love! Here's my 2026 7-8 min morning mobility routine. I swear to you it targets everything! And no props.. try it and see what happens. Message me and I'll send a class sheet to you, and a detailed word doc explaining what why and how.

I'm going to try and do daily!

Come along to an extra restorative and peaceful evening in the hall. Monday February 2, 730-830pm

Essentially an hour of meditation and sound broken up into some very gentle somatic movement to ease a bit of tightness from the body encouraging relaxation, followed by a guided meditation to drop those brainwaves down into a deeply restful state, finishing with allowing the sounds of Chrystal bowls to wash over you, reverberating in the hall which use vibration to help the body relax and mind settle.

An evening such as this is ideal to send our nervous systems into a parasympathetic state of rest, lower stress hormones such as cortisol, improve sleep quality, release tension stuck in mind and body, support focus and equanimity and leave you in a state of deep calm and peace.

If you book in via me or online using a pass, you can book in a friend or family member for just $10 cash

Bring a mat, towel or blanket and then as much as you can to be comfortable.. think pillows, cushions, eye pillows, bolsters, anything! Chairs are available if the floor isn't comfortable for you.

I look forward to sharing this with you all in our beautiful hall.
