Dear Caregivers,
Further to my last email, I am writing to provide you an update on COVID-19
First and foremost, I wish to reiterate your child’s health, safety and well-being is our highest priority and every decision we make is based on expert advice – we take this seriously.
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT MESSAGE BELOW REGARDING SAFTEY MEASURES
Social Distancing
To ensure we are playing our part in stopping the spread, we have made additional precautionary measures to exercise social distancing – we have replaced normal seats with chairs at 1.5 meters apart.
We request caregivers to reduce contact and potential harm by:
Bringing your child ONLY to therapy – if this is not possible or practical, please go for a walk with other siblings instead of sitting in the waiting room
Keeping safe distance “MARKED X” when paying
We might remind you of this without offending you.
Shutdowns
As you may be aware, today, NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian, announced the closure of non-essential services. At this stage, it appears that this measure predominantly aimed at pubs, clubs, restaurants to contain spreading of the virus.
We are waiting on further clarification from the government regarding whether Speech Pathology Services are regarded as non-essential.
As such, we will be conducting business as usual at least for tomorrow (Mon 23rd March 2020) and we will update you once we get further clarity.
School Closures and online Therapy – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We understand that there is a possibility of school closures. Should this be the case, we are prepared to provide therapy online via Skype. Should this occur, we will discuss this with you individually
Please note the following (if and when we switch to online therapy):
There will be some criteria that your child needs to that will enable us to provide the best service possible.
This will be based on a few therapy requirements. We will be in touch with you individually to discuss this.
You must have access to internet (Wi-Fi or cellular data).
Your internet connection needs to be stable.
You will be provided with 30-minute therapy including debrief.
If your internet is not stable, we will still finish in the allocated time.
Your session time might change to be flexible with these new circumstances.
We will be in contact with you individually to discuss availability prior to commencement.
CLINIC CANCELLATION POLICY- SUSPENSION
We have made a conscious decision to suspend current cancellation policy for clinic appointments. However, if you choose to have online therapy, the cancellation policy will be applicable. We will provide you with more information via SMS & e-mail if the current lockdown circumstances develop.
