Participants learn about themselves through exercises designed to meet set treatment goals. Sessions include processing (or discussing) events, feelings, related physical responses, and behavior patterns.

Queensland: Most of you know that on the 2nd March we (mum, Toby and I) flew out to be with our family in Aussie. It's been a whirlwind but a month to the day, we can say we are well settled. I think of all my beautiful friends, clients and family back home ... every day. Our Australian brothers and sisters have looked after mum and I and we have created solid traction in terms of establishing Stable Hearts here. We have been greeted with open arms. Coming here includes completing a barrage of paperwork but once hooked into the system, our Aussie community supporters are just so helpful and positive. We think we will keep this page because it is simply a continuation of all the love and support we have been afforded over the years. Keep well and safe. And again, thank you for your understanding.

MOVING TO THE GOLD COAST
Yes it is true, this Friday 28th January is our last business day. The decision for mum and I to head over to family is bittersweet. We will miss all the beautiful children and adults we have connected with. HB TODAY covered our move in an article which some couldn’t read online, so I’m posting screen shots. It was all pretty accurate except I’ve never been a horse trainer … and I’m not a registered psychotherapist - although I am qualified and have been since 2012 😳 I will be available to take calls and direct messages on 0275768082. Thank you to all those people who supported the facilitation of healing for so many over the years and those we have had enduring relationships with; and more recently children and adults so terribly affected by the cyclone. It’s time for us to let go and be with our family who has supported us from afar💕💕💕💕 It’s been a mighty big year.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMME: All our ponies and horses have been enjoying their new friends. Watching children grow in confidence and beginning to understand what it takes to love and care for a dependent animal; particularly a horse/pony. Navigating weather changes and mood changes that come with that. I am blessed every day as I witness the children and their new herd growing in trust and developing deep and loving relationships. These holidays I have been doubly blessed with a visit from my grandaughter Indie, son Kym, sister Deb and my niece Ella from Aussie. We are all making beautiful memories. Business is good and we know, without the love of this community, we wouldn’t be bouncing back. Thank you all so very much. 💕💕💕

NEW BEGINNINGS: We have moved past the ‘one hour’ and ‘one week’ at a time forecasts. We are positively looking to the near future where our team can make a very real difference to those children who don’t meet application criteria for agency funding. Our horses are settled, our clients are back on board and enjoying the new space. Such extraordinary support has bought us to this positive place. We are off our knees and more passionate than ever. A mighty thank you to all those supporting our kids. We so needed you and you met us in our darkest hour. Our charity trust is all but locked in. Will update you all soon. Thank you again.

STABLE HEARTS COMMUNITY TRUST: Community Trusts are governed by people from their community and sometimes further afield. They invest community capital prudently, and help tailor granting activities to provide significant and inter-generational benefits. We have received overwhelming support from our community since Cyclone Gabrielle. Therefore, forming a trust seems a natural step toward the retention of services for Hawke’s Bay long term - and potentially other regions. We are seeking applications of interest (a text or call) from people who may be in a position to become a supporting trustee. Our clinical, trauma informed, life course prevention and early intervention approach to mental health works. Of course, Trustees do not have to be located in Hawke’s Bay.
