✨ Feedback from my course instructor ✨
I really liked that you followed a head-to-tail approach throughout the session. It created a nice sense of flow and allowed the work to feel very connected and intentional from beginning to end.
I also appreciated how you incorporated other methods as needed to help the horse soften, settle, and relax more fully into the session. You did a very nice job blending your techniques in a way that felt appropriate for the horse in the moment rather than rushing or forcing the work.
You also did very well with the fascia techniques. I could see that your approach was thoughtful and that you were paying attention to how the tissues were responding under your hands. Rather than working too quickly or mechanically, you allowed the fascia work to be patient and responsive, which is so important. That softer, more listening-based approach often creates much better results because it gives the horse time to process and release instead of guarding against the work. I thought you handled that very nicely.
Your full-body approach is something I really value, especially because it allows you to address more than just one isolated area. When there are postural changes or compensation patterns present, working through the whole body can be incredibly beneficial in helping support those broader shifts. A horse rarely compensates in just one place, so this kind of head-to-tail session can be very helpful in addressing the bigger picture.
As you continue to develop as a practitioner, you will likely build even more confidence and skill in choosing when to focus more specifically on the areas that are most directly bothering the horse, particularly as you begin taking on more complex cases or retreat-style sessions. That said, I really like the approach you are using right now. A full-body session can be such a thoughtful and effective way to support the horse as a whole, and I think it suits your style of work very well.
This was very nicely done. You are showing a lot of good instinct in how you work with the horses, how you blend techniques, and how you allow the session to unfold in a calm and supportive way.
