In my meditation this morning, the theme of abundance came to me, and my curiosity at how so many people feel they lack abundance, whether it be money, love, friendship or any other aspect of your life where you feel a lack. I know this feeling well and it took me many years to discover what was causing this.
What I found was that constantly thinking and telling myself what I didn’t want was counter productive when it comes to having what I do want. Unfortunately, when you put into words what you don’t have, that is what the universe/god/the goddess (or whatever you believe in) hears. If you say I haven’t got enough money, that is what you will get; if you say I can never find a good partner, that is once again the experience you will have. Words carry power, use them wisely and you will start to attract the things you want.
The other really important thing is to have gratitude for what you do have, even if it is not a lot. If you are fortunate enough to live in Australia, and yes, I know things are tough for many here at the moment, in the majority of places, when we turn the tap on, water comes out. This isn’t the case in many places around the world. It is something to be grateful for even if most of us take it for granted. We have charitable organisations who help those less fortunate such as food bank, the soup buses and the many feeds for the hungry and homeless.
Every time I sit down to eat a meal, or have the opportunity to connect with nature, I give thanks.
Start to take notice of how you think, the words that form in your mind and rearrange them to read more positively. Don’t think about what you don’t have, you simply add power to it. Be grateful for the abundance in your life no matter what form it takes or how small it is. As you begin to recognise the abundance you have you will start to bring more into your life and see more of what is already there.
I use this little prayer/affirmation:
Earthly Mother, Heavenly Father, I give thanks for the abundance that is in my life in every way. I give thanks for the food that is on my table, the place that I call home, the people in my life and the beauty of nature around me
