Delighted to see Prime Minister Albanese drop by the 4Cyte Pathology Collection Centre whilst on his visit to Dr Ali Ismail and the doctors at Rochedale Village Doctors. Whilst on his visit with local candidate Kara Cook, Prime Minister Albanese spoke about the important role of pathology and keeping pathology bulk billed.

Scientific / Technical Officer –Molecular diagnostics

About the role
The key responsibility of the position is to perform molecular diagnostic procedures and tests in compliance with the departments established protocols:

Must be committed to working night, overnight and permanent weekend shifts.
· Maintaining and utilising equipment.
· Work under direct supervision of the Senior Scientists.
· Exhibit high level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision.

You must have a BSc or equivalent (as recognized by AIMS).
Qualified Technical Officers or equivalent (as recognized by AIMS) will also be considered.

You must be available for immediate start and be eligible to work in Australia

You will be required to be able to work a 7 day roster and evening shifts as required.

Training in the correct wearing of personal protective equipment is provided at induction.

Experience in retail and customer service would be an advantage.

Technical Officer - Microbiology

4Cyte Pathology is a new, Sydney-based pathology laboratory providing exceptional clinical diagnostics services to healthcare practitioners and the local community.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated microbiology Technical Officer to be part of our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified scientist to apply their knowledge and skills to play an essential role in the provision of a quality microbiology diagnostic service.

The key responsibility of this full-time position is to perform diagnostic microbiology procedures and tests in compliance with the department’s established protocols, as well as other areas of the laboratory as needed.

The successful candidate must possess knowledge of clinical microbiology, with demonstrated experience in sample processing. High level communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in both a team environment and unsupervised are also essential for success in being selected for this role. In addition, the candidate must prove their familiarity with the quality management requirements of medical laboratories, demonstrate competency in microscopy and culture analysis, be adaptable to positive change, and have demonstrated knowledge of chemical and biological hazards and precautions within a microbiology laboratory. The successful candidate will also be required to perform routine administrative duties and any other reasonable duties as requested by the Supervising Scientist or delegate.

Availability to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends is a must.

Knowledge and experience in other disciplines of clinical diagnostics will be looked at favourably.
