Mfezi Snake Catcher, Rob Bland reigns from Rhodesia now known as Zimbabwe and he has been catching snakes from the age of 8. His unconditional love for reptiles has often puzzled his family and seen him approach hundreds of venomous & harmless snakes. Rob and his wife Misty (who ironically isn't fond of snakes) have always had a desire to nurture and care for Wildlife. Now members of Wildlife Volunteers Association Inc / Wilvos, their dream has materialised. Regular guests at their Landsborough home range from Snakes to Ringtail possums, with their smallest resident weighing a mere 40gm. Free snake removals and relocations are provided within a 40km radius of their home, with a small $50 fee charged for greater distances. However the fee may be waivered under special circumstances. Donations are welcome as they assist covering costs such as fuel, equipment, insurances and annual registration fees. Rob has attended Snake Handling courses, is licensed with DERM (also known as Department of Environment & Heritage Protection) , the couple both have current First Aid Certificates, current Blue Cards and insurance through AHHA Inc. (Australian Herp Handlers Assoc). Mfezi is the South African name given to the Mocambique Spitting Cobra, which is prolifient in the Zululand area of South Africa where the couple used to reside. We said a sad farewell to Sammy our sugar glider yesterday, he's been put in an aviary with other gliders and will form his own colony before release.
We were given Mr Magoo in return, a short ear possum who is very shy and a little lazy... Loving our early Christmas gift XOX

This mornings PT session - DONE and DUSTED...
Four whip snakes in the bag - DONE and DUSTED....
I never realised how fast these little guys are, until I found myself chasing 4 of these chaps at a property in Maleny.
These snakes are venomous and should not be handled or caught if you don't have the experience (or speed)...
