Most people with an ADHD diagnosis have never had their nervous system assessed.

Here’s what a chronically dysregulated nervous system looks like:

1. Can’t focus because your system is scanning for threat, not tasks

2. Impulsive reactions are fight response firing before the brain catches up

3. Your emotional flooding is no capacity to regulate what’s coming in

5. Memory and cognitive fog is cortisol suppressing prefrontal function

6. Task paralysis is your freeze response making starting feel impossible

9. Zero tolerance for stress means your window of tolerance is paper thin

10. Disrupted sleep is your nervous system stuck in alert mode at night

There was a time I thought something was wrong with me


Why do I feel so sensitive one week,
then so confident and full of life the next?

But nothing was wrong.

I was just moving through my cycle.

There are phases for rest, reflection, slowing down

and phases for connection, creativity, expression.

And when you start working with that instead of against it,
everything feels softer.

Your relationship.
Your expectations of yourself.
Your whole rhythm.

And this isn’t just something for women to understand

the men in our lives need to understand it too.

Because when both of you are aware of these shifts,
there’s more patience, more compassion,
and a lot less confusion.

This is something I’m really leaning into lately

and it’s already changing so much.

The pressure of being everything to everyone.

Dad. Partner. Provider. Business owner. The one who holds it all together in their own way.
And most of us are doing it silently, because we feel like we don’t have a choice. Like if we crack, the whole thing falls apart.
So we push harder. Work longer. Come home already empty. Pour a drink to quiet the noise. Snap at the kids over nothing. Pull away from our wives
 not because we don’t love them, but because something built up so quietly we didn’t even notice it.

That resentment isn’t about them. It’s what happens when you’ve been giving everything and feeling invisible doing it.

And the women carrying this alongside them have their own noise running. “Why won’t he just talk to me. Am I not enough. Is this just how it is now. Maybe if I just give him space. Maybe if I just try harder.”
Watching the man they fell in love with go somewhere they can’t follow. Doing more to compensate. Feeling alone in a house full of people.

This isn’t just a him problem. It lands on everyone.

Here’s what I want to say to you though.
The way you’re providing? It might not be what your family actually needs most.

Yes, they need food on the table. Absolutely. But your kids don’t need the fancy bike.
They need you present, not just physically there.
They need the version of you that isn’t running on fumes and resentment and three bourbons just to feel something close to okay.

You’re not failing them by being human.
But something has to give. And it doesn’t have to be you.

This is what I work with men on. Not motivation. Not hustle. The real stuff underneath.
