On average, 1 in 8 men will experience depression in their lives, and 1 in 5 will experience anxiety.

For some men, talking about their mental health can be difficult, but having this conversation can help them feel less alone and more supported.

These tips are a great way to help you start a conversation with a man in your life:
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Chat side-by-side. It can be more relaxing when eye contact is avoided
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Talk with a clear purpose. Be direct and and address problems that need solving
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Give space and offer help when it's requested
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Keep things casual. Have a few short talks rather than one long conversation
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Talk while doing something else — distractions can make serious conversations less confronting
đŸ—Ŗī¸ Use empowering language — terms like 'mental fitness' instead of 'weakness'
