How often have you said, "We have to catch up soon"... and suddenly, it's six months later?

Life gets busy. Time flies. But our connections can't be left to chance.

Aussie men are lonely, and we know that a simple, regular catch-up is the best way to combat that.

Don't let it slide. Let's make connection a habit.

Your challenge: Tag a mate below and lock in your next catch-up. Don't leave it for 'sometime'. Make it a habit.

We were absolutely delighted to attend the Camden Mental Health Expo last Saturday. Thanks to the Rotary Club for inviting us along, and for organising and hosting such a great community event.

Proud mentors Scott Liddel and Adam Grant volunteered their time and answered questions about how Mentoring Men’s free program supports men to navigate life’s challenges before they reach a tipping point.

It was a privilege to hear from so many great mental health advocates, including the touching personal experience shared by three times Olympic swimming medalist Daniel Kowalski.

Local events like this help us meet men where they live and connect, build trust and encourage seeking help before crisis point. We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by to say hello.

Content warning: This post discusses su***de and mental health statistics that may be confronting.

It's the final week of October, but this is a conversation that can't stop so… we are extending the Meet A Mate challenge.

Over half (53%) of Australian men aged 35-50 meet the criteria for loneliness. We can't keep letting our mates 'push through on their own'.

Loneliness is a critical health crisis, with lonely men around twice as likely to have suicidal thoughts.

A simple chat can change a life.

Send that text. Make that call. Let's show up for our mates.

Sign up or donate to the Meet A Mate challenge at meetamate.org.au to help us raise vital funds for men's mental health.

A heartfelt thank you to Zali Steggall for your powerful acknowledgment of Mentoring Men in Parliament on Wednesday 🙏

Your call for greater government investment to meet the growing demand for men’s support and domestic violence prevention services is both timely and vital.

At Mentoring Men we stand with, not apart from, victim survivor services. Safety, recovery and justice must always come first.

But if we want to stop violence before it starts, we also need to invest in prevention.

That means engaging men early, building skills, and supporting change before harm occurs.

Our approach meets men where they are — in their communities, through genuine connection and trust. We help men explore beliefs and behaviours without shame while still promoting accountability and growth.

As Zali highlighted, the demand for services like ours is need more now than ever before.

With stable and ongoing funding, we can mentor more men, build prevention capacity, and help create safer families and stronger communities across Australia.

Because when men are supported to be healthier and more self aware, everyone benefits 💙

This is your official invitation to join the movement.

Over half (53%) of Aussie men are lonely, and 42% are 'pushing through on their own'. We launched Meet A Mate to give them a simple way to connect.

But we need your help to make it happen. A 'like' is good, but a sign-up is better.
We are asking you to SIGN UP to the challenge right now.

Currently our top three Catch Up Kings have met up with over 90 mates collectively! Can you get yourself on the leader board?

Signing up shows you're committed to helping us raise awareness and vital funds for men's mental health.

Don't wait for someone else to do it. Be the mate who steps up.

This is your reminder: connection matters.

Our research shows that over half (53%) of Aussie men aged 35-50 meet the criteria for loneliness, and too many are just ‘pushing through on their own’.

This crisis isn’t just impacting men; it’s impacting their families and communities too. Healthy men are one half of the equation, a healthy society needs healthy men.

A simple call, a walk, a coffee, or a beer can make a massive difference. It’s about reaching out and making time for someone.

Who’s the mate you’ve been meaning to call? Lock in a plan this week.

Let's see each other through.

💬 We were live on Channel 7’s The Morning Show!

Today our CEO Filipe Gama e Silva joined Mark Burns from The Man Walk to talk about the Meet A Mate campaign. A nationwide movement helping men reconnect, one conversation at a time.

More than half of Aussie men aged 35 to 50 say they feel lonely. Behind that statistic are fathers, brothers, mates, and colleagues who are struggling in silence.

The good news? Connection is the antidote and it starts with something simple: catching up with a mate.

Together with The Man Walk, we’re asking Australians to help us raise $150,000 to keep these vital programs running and reach more men before things spiral.

👉 Sign up, meet your mates, and help raise much needed funds: https://www.meetamate.org.au/

Sometimes, the loudest signs are the quiet ones.

Bailing on plans or losing interest in the hobbies he used to love might seem small in the grand scheme of things, but these can be signs that a mate is pushing through a tough time alone. Noticing these changes, as a mate, is a first, crucial step to helping him through.

This is your sign to check in with your mates and sign up to Meet A Mate https://www.meetamate.org.au/

We are so honoured and humbled by the incredible generosity of the team at Head High in Manly. 💙

The amazing young adults at Head High recently chose Mentoring Men as their local charity for their fabulous Bloom & Belong Fashion Show, raising a fantastic $735 for us!

This wasn't just any event. These talented young adults, who are living with a disability, organised the entire show, modelled on the catwalk, and even produced the canapés and artwork. It was a truly inspiring day held at the Op For Change shop.

Thanks to everyone at Head High for your support to enable Mentoring Men to train mentors in the Manly area.

Trigger Warning: This post discusses domestic and family violence, which may be distressing for some. If you or someone you know is impacted, please call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732

On average, one woman is killed every nine days by a current or former partner in Australia.

This has to stop.

To end violence against women and children, we must engage men as key to prevention: both by supporting more positive male mental health outcomes, and also by equipping men to act when they see something that isn’t right.

Our new whitepaper outlines a community-led solution that works upstream with men, before violence occurs. It details how our proven peer-mentoring model, enhanced with Proactive Bystander Training, gives men the tools to challenge harmful norms and safely step in.

This is how we create generational change and a safer future for all. Read the full report here: https://www.mentoringmen.org.au/reports
