It’s not often I get a huge buzz like I did yesterday!! I had a job to do for a mum and two kids that are doing it super hard, they literally have nothing after mum being abused. I involved the interested kids in my work, getting them to pass tools, screws and lock parts to keep them safe. It cost me extra time, but so worth every minute!! When I finished the job, I got them to check my work then explain to the mum how the lock works, this way I knew, they knew what to do if threatened, or need to get out, explained out of context so they weren’t aware of why I was there. After I packed up, I scrounged around my van for change, then asked the mum if I could pay them for their help, nearly in tears, “that would be lovely” so I gave them a token $2 coin each. Then proceeded to tell them not to buy an apple or banana, but buy some lollies or chips!!!
Should have seen their beautiful little faces!!
Drove away absolutely chuffed…. (Windscreen wipers didn’t work either)
Absolutely blessed to be trusted with such young lives in such an awful situation.
Violence has NO PLACE in my world!!
